Should Born Again Christians Be Concerned of 2012?

It's already an issue now that people are thinking of 2012 as a possible doomsday based on the Mayan calendar as it ends on what would be December 21, 2012 in the Mayan calendar. But honestly that's all trash talk. Looking at the Bible, one can read in in Matthew 24:36 saying, "But of that day and hour knoweth no man not the angels of heaven but My Father only." Those are the words of the Lord Jesus Christ and honestly speaking, it was later repeated in Acts 1:7 saying, "It is not for you to know the times or the seasons which the Father hath put in His own power." which was before the Apostles would be empowered by God the Holy Spirit.

Again, it can be seen that since man cannot know and angels cannot know but the Father only, what gives a fallen angel any right to give an exact date like December 21, 2012? Galatians 1:8 also warns, "But though we or an angel from heaven preach any kind of gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed." Amen to that! It's just a pity that many people today especially Roman Catholics (and other similar cults) have fallen for the lie because they rely too much on signs and lying wonders rather than consult the Bible. They would rather consult a "Marian apparition" and an appearance of an "angel" rather than check what the Bible has to say 99% of their time or wait for their priest to interpret it for them.

1 Corinthians 1:22 says, "For the Jews require a sign and the Greeks seek after wisdom:" to verify that the apparitions are not for today. The Lord Jesus also warned in Mark 8;12 saying, "And He sighed deeply in His Spirit, and said, Why doth this generation seek after a sign? Truly I say to you, There shall no sign be given to this generation." Matthew 24:24 also warns, "For there shall arise false christs and false prophets and shall show great signs and wonders insomuch that if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect." 2 Thessalonians 2:9 says, "Even him whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders." Note that Satan can do miracles too! Sadly from what can be observed, it can be noted how unbelievers can say, "If the miracle came from Satan, how can it happen in the church?" Well answer is, they don't belong to the Lord Jesus Christ!

Here's one thing crazy about the whole thing- people are basing on the Mayan calendar which some believe just ran out of space. Just to think of it- if the Mayans were so accurate why couldn't they predict the very end of their civilization? Also to believe in the Mayan calendar would mean to actually give in to pagan worship. Romans 1:25 would describe them as, "Who changed the truth of God into a lie and worshiped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen." The Mayans were a pretty superstitious bunch who even gave human sacrifices to their gods just to ensure that the sun rises again. That means, to give in to the Mayans' calendar would mean giving in to pagan nonsense. And it's not surprising either that Jehovah's Witnesses (actually false witnesses) are using December 21, 2012 as another possible doomsday.

It should also be mentioned is this- most people have too many speculations what will happen during December 21, 2012 and most of them are imagined. Some believe that the Earth will explode, others a huge meteor will destroy civilization and others, the sun will scorch the whole Earth to death. However these are but half-truths. The Bible has it in Revelation 8:10-11 saying, "And the third angel sounded and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp and it fell upon the third part of the waters and upon the fountains of waters. And the name of the star is called Wormwood and the third part of the waters became wormwood and many men died of the waters because they were made bitter." which would obviously be a meteor but it's still trumpet 3/7 being blown and it's not yet the end. Revelation 16:8 says, "And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire. And men were scorched with great heat and blasphemed the Name of God which hath power over these plagues and they repented not to give Him glory." Again the solar scorch is still vial 4/7 and the world does not end just yet, although it's nearing to an end.  Note all these events happen DURING the Tribulation period.

Also concerning December 21, 2012 as the end of the world, it should be pointed out none of these events have happened therefore the world can't end by that date:
  • The Blessed Hope (1 Thessalonians 4:15-17).
  • The Antichrist to be revealed (2 Thessalonians 2:7-9).
  • The creation of the One World Government, the New World Order under the Antichrist (the European Union has seat number 666 for somebody special) and he will be endorsed by the False Prophet who the writer believes will be the final Pope of Rome. Right now it seems that the next Pope could be the False Prophet then again even for the writer, he can't be sure.
  • The destruction of the apostate church, Babylon the Great who is the Roman Catholic Church.
  • The seven trumpets and the seven vials (Revelation 8 and 16).
  • The end of the New World Order where both the Antichrist and the False Prophet are thrown into the Lake of Fire and Satan will be bound for 1,000 years before being cast into the Lake of Fire (Revelation 19).
