Matthew 24:13 Explained

Matthew 24:13 says, "But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved."  This is another verse being misapplied by the works salvation crowd to add works to simple faith.  What does it really mean?  Again, one really needs to cross-examine the Bible with the Bible alone.  If one needed to work for their salvation, then that would contradict Ephesians 2:8-9.

So where does Matthew 24:13 match up to?  Actually, this is a means to distinguish the true Christians from the fake ones.  Reading Hebrews 11, faith results to real good works, not the good works that people try to do to either gain or maintain salvation.  Okay it can be seen some Christians may be having the problem of Lot, Samson and Solomon BUT these guys still endured to the end, even if in the middle of their lives, they had gotten lax.   Ephesians 2:10 and Titus 2:11-15 says that God's grace teaches Christians to be distinct from the world like how Lot may have been lax but he was vexed by the sinfulness of Sodom.  1 John 2:19 says, "They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us."  This again draws the distinction between the false believer vs. the true believer.  The true believers continued in Christ because they're already in Christ, they're already His so obedience follows as He became their author and they obey Him (Hebrews 5:9).  Christians may fall away but, they still stay saved and the state of staying saved has them with a different attitude towards their errors than the rest of the world.

Christianity is not just a religion one can leave like between X and Y philosophies, it's a second birth caused by believing on the Lord Jesus Christ for who He is and what He did which results to righteous works out of being saved.  The spiritual birth cannot be undone nor can its effects be undone.  Just as one cannot undo their physical birth, the same applies to the spiritual birth too.  Please also notice in Matthew 7:23 that Jesus said, "I NEVER KNEW YOU." meaning that those who didn't endure to the end were NOT SAVED to start with.
