Ponzi Schemers BE SURE YOUR SIN WILL FIND YOU OUT!!!

Numbers 32:23 says, "But if ye will not do so, ye have sinned against the LORD and BE SURE YOUR SIN WILL FIND YOU OUT." Matthew Henry also commented on Numbers 32:23 saying, "Be sure your sin will find you out. Sin will surely find out the sinner sooner or later. It concerns us now to find our sins out that we may repent of them and forsake them, lest they find us out to our ruin." What powerful words these are even to today or tomorrow. I simply have to say this that having some knowledge on finance as well as with Bro. Zigfred, I have already thought that another warning would be against Ponzi schemers. Such people may go ahead and claim to be Christians but they are degenerate people in need of salvation. A believer may be conned into participation into a Ponzi scheme but NEVER being the lead just like Jehoshaphat was duped by Ahab. Ahab duped Jehoshaphat into helping him get the land back from Syria. What was also stupid was that Jehoshaphat as godly as he was failed to practice discernment over the issue, and despite Micaiah's warnings, he went through anyway and worse, Jehoshaphat even made that investment by letting his son Jehoram marry Athaliah, daughter of Ahab and Jezebel. Such an investment was truly deadly as it nearly killed the House of Judah- first Jehoram's wicked reign, Ahaziah's wicked reign then Athaliah kills the whole house of Judah (but failed to kill Joash).

While at first it sounds so good, yet it's too good to be true. It's a deception and dishonesty in a "get rich quick fast scheme". 1 Timothy 6:10 calls the love of money the root of all evil and how true. The Ponzi schemes which are named after infamous con artist Charles Ponzi who may sadly be already burning in Hell from today to eternity in the Lake of Fire, operate in such a deceitful manner. Likewise, Satan also promises quick success but it's also a quick failure. Money that's easy come is easy go. The scam in itself has been used by many people who use direct selling as fraud schemes, they do pay you at first but later con you. Certainly to invest in a Ponzi scheme is NOT a responsible stewardship of money and for a Christian who is involved, it's an unequal yoke likened unto the alliance of Jehoshaphat and Ahab. In fact, it is fueling the workers of darkness and it destroys the testimony of the Christian.

Why do people do such nasty schemes and get swindled by them? Ecclesiastes 5:10-14 says, "He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase. This is also vanity. When goods increase, they are increased that eat them: and what good is there to the owners thereof saving and beholding of them with their eyes? The sleep of the labouring man is sweet whether he eat little or much but the abundance of the rich will not suffer him to sleep. There is a sore evil which I have seen under the sun namely richers kept for the owners thereof to their hurt. But those riches perish by evil travail and he begetteth a son and there is nothing in his hand." Trying to think about it- people do Ponzi schemes to satisfy their own wealth and never get satisfied and people who are duped by them also are seeking to increase their own wealth and they continue to do so, while the mastermind cons the greedy, he too is greedy. Also Matthew Henry commented on this, "There are bodily desires which silver itself will not satisfy much less will worldly abudance satisfy spiritual desires. The more men have, the better house they must keep, the more servants they must employ, the more guests they must entertain, and the more they will have hanging on them. The sleep of the laborer is sweet not only because he is tired, but because he has little care to break his sleep. The sleep of the diligent Christian and his long sleep are sweet having spent himself and his time in the service of God, he can cheerfully repose in God as his Rest. But those who have every thing else often fail to secure a good night's sleep- their abundance breaks their rest. Riches do hurt and draw men from the heart of God and duty. Men do hurt with their riches not only gratifying their own lusts but oppressing others and dleaing hardly with them. They will see that they have laboured for the wind when at death, they find the profit of their labour is all gone like the wind they know not whither. How ill the covetous worldling bears the calamities of human life! He does not sorrow to repentance but is angry at the providence of God, angry at all about him which doubles his affliction."

There is a huge blow behind the Ponzi scheme- money that's easy come is easy go and such people just don't get a good rest either because they are scared either of the law or the judgment of God. In fact, while these people may be religious in the worldly sense, however no amount of Novenas or Rosary prayers will ever stop the coming judgment of God to them. They may bribe a corrupt judge but they cannot bribe the righteous Judge, the Lord Jesus Christ. Talk about how many people who are involved in investment scams may escape the law but people who they have conned, will most likely verbalize against their misdeeds and God has his own ways to punish them like a sudden sickness or disease which will force them to spend huge tons of money for treatment sometimes to no avail. They can't make money easily because they have muddled their hands in the mud of greediness and dishonesty. Maybe one can think about executed drug mules and drug lords- they have certainly plenty of money but they're not even spending it in the malls. Likewise Ponzi schemers may at first con people, deceive people and rotate the money yet when storms of economic affliction come, the scheme is exposed. God is so good to allow economic affliction to expose the frauds like fair weathered friends who like a person only for their money or friends who like a person even when they have no money. Likewise God in His mercy of allowing affliction can use some victims to bring judgment unto such evildoers.

However there is still hope for Ponzi schemers only if they come to God in repentance. Sadly their love for money and their sins are preventing them from coming to Jesus as said in John 3:20 that men love darkness and are afraid to come into the light lest they be reproved.
