The Connection Between Hypocrisy and Apostasy

So what is a hypocrite? Let's define it first shall we from the Merriam-Webster's Dictionary:

  • a person who puts on a false appearance of virtue or religion
  • a person who acts in contradiction to his or her stated beliefs or feelings

Here's a very meaningful excerpt on hypocrisy as an excerpt from Matthew Henry's commentary on Psalm 78:
"Hypocrisy is the high road to apostasy those who do not set their hearts right will not be steadfast with God."

Charles Haddon Spurgeon also quoted these:
Beware of no man more than of yourself; we carry our worst enemies within us.
No one is so miserable as the poor person who maintains the appearance of wealth.
Sincerity makes the very least person to be of more value than the most talented hypocrite.
Because there is one hypocrite, men set down all the rest the same. I heard one man say that he did not believe there was a true Christian living, because he had found so many hypocrites. I reminded him that there could be no hypocrites if there were no genuine Christians. No one would try to forge bank notes if there were no genuine ones.
It is a terribly easy matter to be a minister of the gospel and a vile hypocrite at the same time.
It is of no use for any of you to try to be soul-winners if you are not bearing fruit in your own lives. How can you serve the Lord with your lips if you do not serve Him with your lives? How can you preach His gospel with your tongues, when with hands, feet, and heart you are preaching the devil's gospel, and setting up an antichrist by your practical unholiness?

The Lord Jesus Christ Himself in Matthew 23 had also shown the connection between hypocrisy and false religion. The Pharisees were in fact a bunch of people who say and do not. That is, they were living a double standard life- just like the average Catholic priest who while preaching of holiness and purity in the pulpits have very dirty secret lives or the average apostate pastor who is in bed with false religions. How hypocritical were they? They did their good works for their own glory and not for the glory of God. They were basically so hypocritical they think they could enter Heaven by their works and thought they had no need for salvation. No wonder the Bible warned in Job 13:16 that the hypocrite will not come before the LORD- in fact they think they are good enough they have fooled God. Bad news, they have not fooled God! That's the basic trademark of false religion- nothing more than show business. Also calling the priest "father" is NOT a Christian practice but pagan.

Also in 1 Timothy 4:2 the description of the apostate church that has been identified by many true Baptists and Protestant Christians (not unsaved Protestants who have added one crazy idea after the other to the point like modern Lutheranism adds water baptism to salvation) have identified as the Roman Catholic institution. 1 Timothy 4:1-3 lists this apostasy with the following characteristics:
  • Departing from the faith (i.e. never saved to start with- 1 John 2:19)
  • Speaking lies in HYPOCRISY
  • Having conscience seared with a hot iron
  • Forbidding to marry i.e. enforced celibacy
  • Commanding to abstain from certain foods

Doesn't that really sound like Roman Catholicism and as a former Roman Catholic, I do agree! In fact Roman Catholicism while claiming to be a Christian institution has deceived its own followers they are Christians when they are not. In fact, after I realized salvation was by faith alone and not by the works system of legalism and conditional security, I realized the Bible is too crystal clear on apostasy and hypocrisy. In fact Catholicism while claiming to be Christian has these in mind that MATCHES 1 Timothy 4:1-3:
  • While it claims to worship Christ, however it really is a Marian not Christian faith. For example the Rosary has 50 Hail Marys per Mystery so meaning for three mysteries, you get a total of 150 Hail Marys. Or for many of the prayers, they are offered from Mary "to Jesus" to which again is a serious lie.
  • Most RomanCatholic priests are hypocrites. While they preach against sins on the pulpit (but these days mind you they are VERY watered down, the Jesuits have also managed to infect Baptist pulpits everywhere with watered down messages) however the opposite is true. I could see how many perfect of religious people are criminals and corrupt politicians. Supposedly the Catholic canon law was to forbid anybody with "mortal sin" to partake in Communion yet I really do keep seeing corrupt politicians and criminals who are well-published as such in the Internet to be still partaking in Communion. Or two, they can deny their connections to the corrupt politicians yet it is a well-known fact many of these corrupt politicians have Jesuits for their confessors! Also supposedly the Roman Catholic institution is against abortion but many former priests and nuns turned Christians have revealed the UGLY TRUTH of abortion in convents! Maybe I should also mention that while their Canon Law forbids them from having concubines yet concubinage is another major scandal that has hit Roman Catholicism from the Popes down to the priests!
    • Notes: Canons 3 and 11 forbid priests, deacons, subdeacons, and monks to marry or to have concubines; it is also forbidden them to keep in their houses any women other than those sanctioned by the ancient canons. Marriages of clerics are null pleno jure, and those who have contracted them are subject to penance.
  • Their conscience is that seared. Seriously one form of hypocrisy forms another. The Roman Catholic institution is proven guilty even by their own Douay Bible or the Good News Bible (which is used in soulwinning to Roman Catholics) of taking the second commandment and splitting the tenth to sell more graven images. Then they make more lies that they don't do that. Then they continue to think there is nothing wrong with them despite the evidence of the unregenerate man is showing like living in with another woman in an adulterous relationship or without the benefit of marriage, having a huge gambling addiction, homosexuals, etc.
  • According to the history of the Roman Catholic institution from a ROMAN CATHOLIC SOURCE namely a church history manual, in AD 1079celibacy was enforced on all who would enter the priesthood thus ending the papal succession from father to son modeled after the priesthood of Aaron. Seriously neither did Jesus nor the Apostles endorse enforced celibacy. What is so stupid is that Roman Catholic faith defenders also dare to say that it's not a doctrine it's a discipline type of argument. I seriously have NO TIME to argue with them even if I wanted to, because God has sent me to preach not to debate.
  • Commanding to abstain from certain foods. While the Bible is certainly IN for fasting voluntarily, however the Roman Catholic institution has forbade people from eating meat on Fridays as a mortal sin as well as during Lent as a spiritual discipline. Now don't tell me that it is not a command to abstain from certain foods! In fact, Huldyrch Zwingli the French reformer had actually been persecuted unjustly for that offense of eating sausages during Lent. Colossians 2:16-18 also says that Christians are not to let ANY MAN judge them of what they eat or drink in the respect of any holy day or new moon as well as not to be involved in the worshiping of angels. Not worshiping angels? Prayer in itself is a VERY ACT OF WORSHIP!

As said, most people say what this blog is about is useless stuff to them. And as said, the unregenerate mind will find the true things of God to be unholy while they are fixed to the god of their imagination.
