Another Acid Test Against False Conversion
After browsing through Ray Comfort's "Revival's Golden Key", "True and False Conversion" and "Hell's Best Kept Secret" which has helped me a lot, I'll lend him a hand in here by showing this chart he could also use as well as other preachers:
True Christians (true conversion)
- Will sell everything if necessary for the sake of the Gospel when called to do it
- Persecuted in various means (ex. Roman Empire, Inquisition, Crusades) even to the point of bloody torture and some even died horrible deaths
- Taught sound doctrine like man's total depravity and Christ is Lord
- Diligent in studying Scripture
- Carriers of their crosses
- Lived a life set apart from the world
- It's all about others
- Selfless love in good works out of God's grace regardless of situation
vs.
Phony Christians (false conversion)
- All they think is to please their material goods (ex. getting an iPhone for a cellphone when it's NOT even necessary!)
- Shrinks away when it comes to persecution proving they weren't really saved (1 John 2:19)
- Watered down doctrine that doesn't even preach about sin and Christ as Lord (easy believism)
- Picks only a few Scriptures to criticize true believers
- Teaches works salvation but lives a luxurious life and sometimes even sinful ones
- It's very important to gain approval of the world
- Me, myself and I mentality
- Good works is but show business, true colors show when no fame is earned
