Reflecting on Jonathan Edwards on the Obligation of Every Generation to See What God Is Doing and Do It Together with Him!

Image
It is indeed the obligation of every generation to understand what God is doing and then do it together with Him. Every time I read the Old Testament to the New Testament, God intended His words not to be just for that generation but He wanted it even to the next and the next generation. But how can every generation see what God is doing and do it together with Him? The Bible says that the children must be taught the very Word of God. As the New Year approaches, I hope this message will help Christians will remind them that as a new year approaches, the work of the Lord must be done because every new year means the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ gets closer. In Deuteronomy 11:18-22, God gave this command to the Israelites as their instruction to remember God's words: Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes. And ye shall teach them your children, speaki

Vatican Radio Confirms Pope Francis' Heresy That God Can Only Love, Not Condemn

The Vatican Radio has confirmed yet another of Pope Francis' heresies.  I will put the statements from the news report then comment on them.  Here's what Pope Francis said that disturbed me at the end of the report which I will highlight in yellow: “It’s impossible for God to not love us!  And this is our safeguard. I can refuse that love, I can refuse just like the Good Thief did, until the end of his life.  But that love was waiting for him there. The most wicked and the most blasphemous person is loved by God with the tenderness of a father.  And just as Paul said, as the Gospel said, as Jesus said: ‘Like a hen with her brood.’  And God the all-powerful, the Creator can do everything: God weeps!  All of God’s love is contained in this weeping by Jesus over Jerusalem and in those tears.  God weeps for me when I move away from him: God weeps for each one of us: God weeps for the evil people who do so many bad things, cause so much harm to mankind… He is waiting, he is not c

Keith Thompson's Historical Lesson on "Did Roman Catholicism Give Protestants the Bible?"

Image
While I am a Baptist Christian and not a Protestant Christian but nonetheless, Protestant Christians are still my brothers and sisters in Christ.  Try to listen to this video by Keith Thompson on, "Did Roman Catholicism Give Protestants the Bible?"  Taking a more scholarly approach, here is a video that defends the truth Roman Catholicism did not give us the Bible.  Instead, they have even forbidden people from reading the Bible.  God bless.

The Stupidity of Attempting to Get Men Pregnant

When people do not want God into their lives and they just want the creation instead of the Creator, one can see the foolish direction their scientific pursuits undergo.  They could go ahead and say that Christians are the most unscientific people or you could think of them saying that having a religion makes you dumb.  Think again because some homosexuals have become so stupid that they wish to play God in attempting to get a man pregnant.  This is a very act of rebellion against God because He wrote the laws of science. From Yahoo News last November 18, 2015 I have read of the attempt to get men pregnant.  When I read the article, I really cannot help but wonder if these people even know what they are doing and the high risk of what they are doing.  Part of the article says: Uterus transplants are still in the research stage for women suffering from uterine factor infertility (UFI). A Swedish team already has successfully transplanted uteri harvested from live donors and

Emily Satterford's Conversion Testimony Proves Homosexuality Is a Sin!

Emily Satterford started out as a false convert to Christianity then she became a lesbian.  Later, the power of the grace of God by faith alone through His Son the Lord Jesus Christ delivered her from homosexuality. I am glad that for testimonies of former homosexuals who now share their testimony of how the Lord Jesus redeemed them from that sin, not in that sin.   As 1 Corinthians 6:11 says, "Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God." which means, true converts do not want to live their old lives anymore.

Some People Got Saved Not Because of the Repeat After Sinner's Prayer Evangelism But in Spite of It

I remembered one of Paul David Washer's sermons said that some people were saved during a repeat after me evangelism. He mentioned the fact that these people were not saved because of it but in spite of it. Now why do some people get saved in spite of a "repeat after me" sinner's prayer. Now I do say that it can lead to a false assurance but there are times that preachers who use a sinner's prayer managed to lead people to true conversion because of other factors that were done right during the preaching. I think what some godly preachers fail to see is the problem may not be too much of repeating the sinner's prayer after the pastor but the watered down preaching. I do agree that the Lord Jesus never said to the crowds, "Who wants to ask me right into their hands just raise your hand." but instead the message has always been, "Repent ye and believe the Gospel." not "Repent by believing the Gospel." This called for repentance

Many Atheists Are Hypocritically Condemning Child Sacrifice While Condoning to Abortion at the Same Time

Image
This illustration of Moloch's worship involving the worship of an infant to its fire with the label "Planned Parenthood" addresses the fact that abortion is no less different than sacrificing babies to pagan gods.  Nobody can say, "It wasn't born, it was just a glob and it was not yet a child." because science proves that the fetus is a living person evidenced that a pregnant woman feels her unborn child's kick.  If the fetus was not a living person, how can he or she even kick the womb as much as he or she receives nourishment from the mother or how the mother is given guidelines by her doctor so the child will not be miscarried? I find it hypocritical when atheists condemn religion for all the ritualistic infant sacrifices yet a lot of them condone abortion.  Margaret Sanger one of the worst atheists and founder of Planned Parenthood would be comparable to the wickendess of Jezebel and Athaliah.  When Jezebel brought Baal worship, it also brought

John Calvin's Quote Against Abortion

Image
This quote by John Calvin had considered the sacredness of human life in the unborn fetus.  In Jeremiah 1:5 says, "Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations."  God already told Jeremiah the wonderful truth that even before a person is born, God already knew them. John Calvin also commented on Exodus 21:22 which also warned that God values the life of the unborn.  Such a crime was so serious that it really called life for life saying: If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine.    {q} mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. (q) Or, death: of the mother or child in

Many People Keep Overlooking Abortion as a Huge Crime Against Humanity!

Image
I do advocate pet adoption, not wearing fur (we don't live in Genesis anymore) and stopping cruelty to animals but it's sad how abortion is overlooked as murder. It's hypocritical to say you have a humane society because you have laws against animal cruelty but you endorse abortion. Abortion is in no way humane because it involves killing of human lives. It's stupid to get mad if a puppy gets mutilated while thinking nothing is wrong with a fetus getting aborted. Both of them are acts of cruelty! If the Pharaoh at the beginning of Exodus and Herod the Great started a dreadful abortion campaign by massacring defenseless babies to preserve their power, today their misdeed continues with abortion when governments support it in order to stay in power. It's hypocritical to criticize the pagan civilizations for human sacrifice (and note, many pagan civilization sacrifice babies to their gods) or Herod for ordering the murder of the Jewish babies just to stay in pow

The Average Child's Typical View of Christmas

Image
Image above is from Answers in Genesis Aside from believing in the otherwise non-existent Santa Claus, there's also the problem of children that get excited for Christmas for wrong reasons. There are the parties and not to mention the toys where one might end up singing, "Joy to the world, the toys have come." instead of, "Joy to the world, the Lord is come." As a child who grew up in a non-Christian family, the idea of lying about Santa Claus was never considered a real lie and the idea of Christmas was all about toys never mind there are a lot of unfortunate people out there. When it's Christmas aside from the time I believed Santa Claus would give me toys if I were good all year (no wonder the average child believes in works salvation) but also, I was excited about going out to buy toys and receiving toys because it was Christmas. There is nothing wrong about giving and receiving gifts on Christmas but the problem is when the people love the gift

Christmas Message: The Flowers of This World Are No Match for the Lord Jesus Christ!

Image
Considering that it's Christmas Eve and I don't really see any reason to condemn Christians who celebrate Christmas as a time to remember the incarnation of Christ of God becoming man, He is Immanuel meaning God with us. While Jesus was not born on December 25 but I see nothing wrong with having Christmas bonuses, Christmas parties and double the effort to do good on Christmas than you usually would but many people are caught in the worldly celebration. Now I know Christmas has its "pagan origins" but it's also an opportunity to win people to Jesus Christ to let them get this straight, "Jesus is the reason not just for this season for all the seasons." Many people today are focused on the world especially during Christmas. I cannot help but think that people look forward to presents and parties. I have nothing against giving gifts or having parties but it becomes a problem when the Giver, the Lord Jesus Christ is not exalted and the gifts and partie

The Perfect Messiah's Imperfect Lineage

The Messianic line was not a perfect line yet it was from Judah. Genesis 49:8-10 says, "Judah, thou art he whom thy brethren will praise; thy hand shall be in the neck of thine enemies; thy father's children shall bow down before thee. Judah is a lion's whelp; from the prey, my son, thou art gone up: he stooped down, he couched as a lion, and as an old lion, who shall rouse him up? The scepter shall not depart from Judah nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be." I always asked myself, "Why did Judah become the lineage of the Messiah?" I soon read the Bible to find my answers, I soon listened to Bible teaching to learn the answers and it was all bordered on God's grace that saves the sinner from sin. The imperfect lineage leading to the perfect Messiah shows God's power over sin and that salvation from sin is not by human effort but by His grace. Judah was not really perfect but the

By Postmodern Standards, John the Baptist Would Be "Not Christlike"

Image
Love warns and that is true.  People today tend to say, "Stop preaching against other people's religions, didn't the Bible tell us to love one another."  What they don't realize is that the "love gospel" is not love at all.  If you love people, you would tell them that they are heading for Hell, you would not sugarcoat the Gospel just because you are afraid that the lost sinner would be upset.  Jesus loves sinners so much He told them the plain truth that they are heading for Hell, He never softened the message and to say that any preacher who preaches the full message of the Gospel is not Christlike is a huge lie to the face of any true Christians. John the Baptist preached against sin and was not afraid to declare the truth even at the cost of his head.  When he attacked the incest and adultery of Herod Antipas and Herodias, he knew what he had to do.  When he attacked the Pharisees because of their hypocrisy, he was making way for the one greater

Reflecting on Hudson Taylor on Abiding with the Lord Jesus

Image
The great missionary to China was Hudson Taylor.  When one thinks of the Jesus' illustration of the vine and the branches in John 15:1-8, one can see that apart from Christ, we can really do nothing for God.  A branch is just a branch unless it bears fruit or two, if that branch happens to abide with the vine.  The whole message of Jesus can be seen as to how there are the branches (Christians), the useless branches (unsaved people) and He is the vine.   As Christians, there is really no need to worry as Philippians 4:6 tells them not to worry but to trust God.  The Christian is presented as that branch fit enough for the vine but they are not perfect branches.  As Jesus says that His Father is the husbandman of the vineyard, He works on them so they bear more fruit.  When the branches have some obstructions, the Christian can expect for the loving chastisement of the Father (Hebrews 12:5-7).  The Christian as the useful branch is being purged so he or she can bear more frui

Pope Francis Hypocritically Warns Against False Prophets Seeking Money for Salvation

Pope Francis is no doubt a hypocrite. After declaring that a personal relationship with Christ is dangerous, saying Christians should not own weapons and trying to seek worldwide abolition of capital punishment now he warns of false prophets seeking money for salvation. WEH?! I would like to share the article from End Times Headlines where he shows another utter display of hypocrisy: Pope Francis on Wednesday warned Catholics against fraudsters who would have them pay to pass through “Holy Doors” at cathedrals around the world, a ritual in the Church’s current Jubilee year. “Be careful. Beware anyone who might be a little fast and very clever who tells you have to pay. No! You don’t pay for salvation. It is free,” he said in unscripted remarks to tens of thousands of people in St. Peter’s Square for weekly audience. During the year-long celebrations that began last week and are one of the most important events in the 1.2 billion-member Church, the faithful will make pilgrimag

Believing in Jesus is More Than Just Superficial Belief

Image
One of the reasons why Reformed Theology gets a slap in the face by "Easy Christianity's" theology is because they adhere to a superficial belief.  The quote above by Dr. John F. MacArthur stresses the fact that true, believing is essential but there's more than just superficial belief.  James warns in James 2:19 warns that the devils believe and tremble.  The demons believe Jesus is the Son of God but it's a superficial belief.  That is the huge warning about superficial faith.  Many people today say that the idea of salvation is by faith alone but not by a faith alone is contradictory.  As James also stresses in James 2:14, "Can faith save him?" which can be restated as, "Can that faith save him?"  If one has real genuine belief in Jesus Christ, there ought to be a change in one's lifestyle and attitude towards sin as they mature in their Christian lives.  Even the most immature of Christians cannot live like devils because they are sa

Marian Idolatry on the Airplane

Image
To no end, I always hear Roman Catholics try to defend their use of images with all absurd arguments and I get a whole lot of unsubstantiated accusations.  What I might say is that if they are not guilty of idolatry, I wonder that this is taking Mary on a "plane ride".  Here the idol is placed on a passenger chair as if it was a living person and not an image made from ceramic.  I am really laughing so hard because that idol could have just been wrapped in paper, placed in a box and checked in but no, it had to get the benefits of sitting on a passenger seat instead.  Then you will have Roman Catholics who are most likely to reply with Marian phrases towards the image itself like "Holy Mary, Mother of God pray for us." If you are going to think about buying artwork, most people would just have them carefully checked in the airplane with every other item.  But as I mentioned earlier, the whole scene is really stupid because if they were just worshiping the one p

The Teaching of Radical Grace is a Result of Bad Bible Teaching!

Image
While listening to some of Pastor John F. MacArthur's lectures on expository preaching, I still can't forget the very lesson that, "If you preach, preach from the Bible... EXPOSITORILY. "  It reminded me of the instance when he shared the unfortunate interpretation of using John 11 as the passage for the Rapture of the Church when it was talking about the resurrection of Lazarus, the brother of Mary and Martha.  What I cannot help but do was really be amazed at how preachers who do not preach in an expository manner end up coming with a lot more Bible errors.  I may not fully agree with Pastor MacaArthur's interpretations but it doesn't mean I do not agree with the fact that preachers must preach verse by verse, get the meaning of the Scripture before applying it.  No pastor is ever perfect but with sound Bible preaching, going verse by verse, we can minimize error as much as possible.  Another of the most creeping heresies today is the concept of radic

Illogical Arguments of Marian Fanatics Towards the Born Again Christian Stand on Mary

One of the many big and not to mention unsubstantiated accusations that any Marian fanatic can cook up is, "You Protestants do not value the mother of Jesus at all. You hate her. You downplay her importance. She's the mother of God and she deserves all the honor that Jesus has. If you dare deny she is the Queen of Heaven and that she can hear our prayers, you are a blasphemer." This of course results in me getting a series of migraines that no matter how I try to defend my biblical stance on Mary, they just refuse to listen because they have their tendency to think that they are usually right. No matter how I try to explain from the pages of the Bible, they do not want to listen to reason. This is actually the logical fallacy of false dilemma when they say, "Unless you believe in the Roman Catholic stand on Mary then you diminish her importance and you are against her." Born again Christians do not have a problem with Mary as a person. The problem they have is

Charles Spurgeon's Quote on the Gospel Troubling Sinners

Image
If salvation is not by works, why is the Gospel rejected by sinful man?  Jesus warned in John 3:19-20 speaks this terrible truth, "And this is the condemnation that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.  For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds be reproved."  Whenever you preach the Gospel to to the lost sinner, it's offensive to them because their deeds will be reproved.  It's because in man's own natural tendency is not to think of themselves as sinful people but as naturally good people.  Take note that many people who live sinful lifestyles even dare to say nothing is wrong with them. Whenever I read through any of Spurgeon's sermons against sin, I really would only say, "No wonder men hate godly preaching because it interferes with their sin."  When I got saved, I had to realize the one terrible fact that because I am a sinner

It's Not a Lack of Intelligence But Intellectual Pride That Keeps Atheists Away From Salvation!

Image
The whole problem of anybody who rejects Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior is not an intellectual but moral issue.  Jesus said in Matthew 18:2-4 that unless we become like one of the little children, we cannot see the Kingdom of God.  In "The Gospel According to Jesus", we read this from page 278 saying, "Children old enough to be saved ought to be able to grasp the concept of coming to Christ with an obedient heart, and they need to be willing to let Christ be the boss of their lives.  That concept is not above the comprehension of children old enough to believe."  Children who are not yet mature in their understanding can understand the Lordship of Christ, that He alone deserves their all just like they can understand that they must submit to authority as well as being taught right and wrong.  If a child can understand salvation, so can an adult. The problem has always been intellectual pride, not intelligence itself.  Remember what God had created, Satan h

The Problem of Desiring to Obtain Useless Knowledge

Image
Because of the fallen nature of man, there is the desire to obtain useless knowledge instead of godly knowledge. When God told Adam and Eve not to eat from the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge, it might be a picture that we must get our knowledge from God, not from other sources. God wanted to protect them from the forbidden knowledge which they got from eating the fruit. As a result of inheriting the sins of our ancestors Adam and Eve, man tends to have that desire to obtain useless knowledge. In short, this is seeking to obtain knowledge that will not help the person's spiritual well-being but instead, it chooses to feed on the carnality of the flesh. There is the statement that knowledge is power and people can be destroyed by a lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6). But what kind of knowledge must the Christian have? It must be knowledge that edifies and knowledge that glorifies God, not knowledge on the useless stuff. But what is so sad in the world today is that we have the proble

Reflecting on "Be Ye of Little Faith?"

Image
John Calvin's quote above on the Pilot Himself reminds me of the encounter of Jesus calming the storm in Matthew 8:23-27 and Mark 4:35-41.  Jesus was asleep on the ship and He was asleep.  The storm hit so hard that they decided to try to wake Jesus saying, "Master, carest thou not that we perish?" or "Lord, save us: we perish."  Remember Jesus was sleeping at the hinder part of the ship and he was the Captain.  He knew what was happening but the disciples lacked faith.  The disciples saw that they lacked faith and saw Jesus is the only One who can get them out of the storm. In the two accounts, we read these words as what might be paraphrased by the writers Matthew and Mark, "Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?" and " Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith?"  When one looks at the passages, Jesus rebuked the disciples for their doubt then He stopped the waves.  Likewise, Christians can also be like the disciples

"Easy Christianity" Churches Are Also Leading People to Hell

Image
The heretical doctrine that should sicken any truly saved person is the doctrine of "Christian" Antinomianism.  The term itself is an oxymoron because there is no such thing.  I would agree that salvation is precious, it is not worked for, all sins were forgiven regardless of tense and I take my blessed assurance that salvation cannot be lost.  However, even if salvation is grace through faith those points that were just mentioned are not the only point when it comes to salvation.  One must realize that when there is salvation, there is also sanctification.  1 Corinthians 6:11 states that not only is there justification but also sanctification.  Right after Paul warned the unrighteous shall not inherit the Kingdom of God, he mentions the wonderful change of the believer.  Before they got saved, you can see how sinful they are but now they are saved then one can see the wonderful change in one's life of God's grace.  If a person's profession of faith was made bu

People's Behavior During the Christmas Season Proves Humanity Is Not Basically Good

Image
What I love about Answers in Genesis' artwork is how they have that humor addressing how fallen we are. One of the reasons why I really get so angry during Christmas is because of all the inconsiderate people causing traffic. If you plan to celebrate Christmas, doing your shopping before the sale may be smarter than going to a last minute Christmas sale. It may cost more money but it can spare the person from psychological or physical injuries. I couldn't help but remember the time I really lost my cool because of how people fight during a Christmas sale over the last item. When I am done, I really hate the road because people are so reckless during Christmas. All these are proofs of the total depravity of man. Although Jesus was not born on December 25 and it was the birthday of a pagan god in some cultures but it doesn't mean Christmas celebration is wrong. What I want to address during the Christmas season is that the real message of Christ's birth is not abou

John Flavel on Christian Prayer

Image
The Presbyterian preacher John Flavel's words ring true indeed that there's no other sweeter outlet for the Christian in times of trouble than genuine prayer to God. When Jesus gave His disciples a sample of how to pray, we read the "Our Father". As the prayer goes it says: Our Father, which art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name, Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done in Earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this our daily bread and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, for ever. Amen." (Matthew 6:9-13) The whole model of prayer addresses the fact that the very first supplication must be for the glory of God before the one who is praying. The asking for what one needs is in the daily bread, acknowledging of one's sins in continued repentance while asking for the strength to forgive one's enemies as well as asking for deliverance from temp
