Halloween Also Helps Foster Roman Catholic Nonsense Through Horror Films

Image
So how do horror movies promote Roman Catholic nonsense? Are you quite familiar that many vampire films (though not all) tend to use the whole use of crucifix and holy water to fight vampires? I remembered reading some literature related to the occult. Some time ago, I even heard that you'd know the person is an occult beast is that they hate "holy" water and crucifixes aside from the usual cliche of salt, garlic and bright sunlight. When I used to watch horror movies before I got saved, I also remembered how I was influenced to believe no evil spirit could harm me if I have a crucifix or if I used some "holy water" then I could get rid of demons and my sins. Make no mistake that one of Satan's most powerful weapons of deception is the use of horror movies.  Satan may not be all-powerful but no one can underestimate his power to double-cross. One of his worst tactics is to fool people into believing they're actually glorifying God and fighting him wh

The Superstitious Use of "Holy" Water and Crucifixes

Image
It's no secret that Reformation happens on the same day as Halloween. Halloween is a celebration of superstition. Do you ever notice that horror movies are shown frequently during Halloween? Some horror movies dwell on superstition while others simply dwell for the sake of a scary movie. One could see how these horror movies actually promote superstition over faith in God. How do some of these horror movies promote superstition? Try to notice some horror movies make extensive use of crucifixes, "holy" water, rosaries or any object that Roman Catholicism deems to help fight against demons. Some of the most familiar scenes are vampires are scared of crucifixes and that monsters are hurt by "holy" water. This also defeats common sense since when can a crucifix serve as a defensive weapon against a criminal's bullet or can "holy" water be used to disinfect a wound? The answer is not at all yet so many people blindly use them as demon repellents.

Continuing the Reformation Means Taking the Risk to Get the Gospel Out

Image
The wise preacher Charles H. Spurgeon once said, "You must go into the fire if you are to pull others out of it." Firemen don't pull others out of the fire by not exposing themselves to risk. Soulwinning doesn't mean staying in the comfort zones. Instead, it calls people to preach to people even if it means losing one's life. Radical Christianity doesn't kill others but it's willing to be killed just so others can hear the good news of Jesus Christ. That's what draws the line between true Christianity and false Christianity. Many accounts have Christians getting burned alive for their faith. Some of the most infamous incidents involved the Roman emperors and the Roman Catholic institution. The account involved Christians burned alive for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Some of those notable who were burned alive for preaching the Gospel are Jan Hus, Girolamo Savonarola and William Tyndale just to name a few. Many Christian men and women were also bu

Sorry, Dalai Lama Doesn't Truly Understand True Religion

Image
When Jesus said in John 14:6 that He's the only Way, the Truth and the Life and no man comes to the Father but Him, He wasn't joking at all. There's one thing you can be certain. No highest god in any pagan religion is God the Father. No, God the Father in the Christian view cannot be compromised or compared with the highest gods of polytheistic religion. Dalai Llama is right to say that true religion consists of having a good heart but does he understand it? I'm afraid that Dalai Llama doesn't understand what having a good heart is. Pagan religions may teach man's fallen state while others deny original sin. Buddhism teaches man is in a fallen state but teaches no grace. It teaches self-achievement towards enlightenment. Buddhism is all about works salvation. I don't think Dalai Llama understands the reality of the wickedness of the human heart. Jeremiah 17:9 says that the heart is wicked above all things. If the heart is so wicked and man is so wicked,

Well, This Portrait Shows How Out of Context Preaching Can Be So Dangerous!

Image
Do you know that a pseudo-Christian organizations are faultily built on out of context preaching? Whenever I study these organizations whether it'd be the Roman Catholic institution, the Mormons, the Jehovah's Witnesses, the Iglesia ni Cristo or any of them claiming to be the true church or the true church restored after its apostasy (that's not Bible teaching, either), we can be certain that out of context preaching out of context is indeed dangerous. Many people are in Hell today all because of quack preachers who keep taking verses out of context. Many of them either have a false security in their good works or in their belief that Christians can still remain the same as before. Either way, both the works salvationist and the Antinomian aren't regenerate Christians but they're still degenerate sinners. The portrait above shows the example of how stupid out of context preaching is. The person in green is putting God to the test by misquoting Philippians 4:13.

Continue the Reformation, Expect Only Persecution!

Christianity has never been the easy road. No, the moment you're truly saved then it means there's no easy path. There's going to be no such thing as a broad and easy road. Face it, you've entered the narrow road (Matthew 7:13-14). The road gets narrower and narrower. To become a Christian means to be called out of this world (John 15:18-19, James 4:4). For the Christian, there's no such thing as friendship with the world. Continuing the Reformation means expecting only persecution! The start of the Reformation didn't start and end with Martin Luther. The Roman Catholic institution launched the Counter-Reformation. I believe this Counter-Reformation is still continuing but it's no longer exclusive to the Roman Catholic institution. Other examples of Counter-Reformation is not only attacking the Five Solas of the Reformation namely Scripture alone, faith alone, grace alone, in Christ alone and glory to God alone but also those who claim to be Christians b

Continuing the Reformation Means Warning People That Church Attendance Doesn't Make Anyone a Christian

Image
Some "former Christians" will say that they were once Christians because they once went to church, some of them even used to teach Sunday school or do whatever activities are associated with church. These were Christians in name only. Remember Judas Iscariot spent 3.5 years of his life working with the Lord Jesus. From the surface, it looked like Judas Iscariot gave his life to Jesus but he never did. If he did, he would have never sold Jesus for thirty pieces of silver and continue to the path that led to his suicide. When John wrote 1 John 2:19, he probably had Judas Iscariot in mind when he said: They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us : but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us. John emphasized that such people looked like they were Christians but they weren't. Some of them may have attended church services. If you remember the parable of the sow

Plenty of Today's Churches Need a Radical Reformation Against Easy "Christianity"!

Image
Whenever it's the Reformation, it's easy to think about Martin Luther's protest against the Roman Catholic institution. It's easy to think about fighting the Great Whore of Revelation. Here's the question that I'd want to raise, "Do you realize that we're also having churches plagued with easy believism or easy Christianity?" Easy believism is a term that's so easily confused. Some may think that they're easy believists but they reject any notion that a person can get saved and sin all they want. The real easy believists are those who believe that they can be saved and still remain the same. If Rome's doctrine of salvation by works is a sure road to Hell then so is Antinomianism. It's a common problem today in many churches that they uphold the heresy of easy prayerism. They teach a distorted picture of once saved always saved. Once saved always saved is biblical but we must emphasize on the characteristics of those who are

Continue the Reformation By Soulwinning This Halloween

Image
A Christian should never participate in the sinful activities of Halloween. No Christian parent should even let their children go out trick or treating. No Christian should ever display satanic symbols on their house or pictures of demons to blend in with the world. But it's also not  the call to hide, to turn out the lights and to just remain silent. It would really put the great Martin Luther to shame to do that. It's because he nailed his 95 Theses on the Wittenburg Door which sparked the start of the Protestant Reformation. Halloween indeed is a celebration of darkness. Christians are called to be the light. Luther attacked the papacy's claims with the Reformation. October 31 was an important day because people were buying indulgences in hopes of buying forgiveness. Luther didn't cower and hide. Instead, he decided to challenge the evils of the papacy by nailing the 95 Theses on the Wittenburg Door. Today, there's an approach that Christians can use. Trick o

Part of Continuing the Reformation is Sorrow For the Lost

Image
Sorrow for the lost is a very difficult thing for new Christians. When Christians are delivered from a lifestyle of sin, they can expect the world to chew on them. The Christian life means it's time to say goodbye to sin and hello to righteousness. The Christian isn't saved by good works is still going to result to good works as a result of salvation. Nobody can be saved and remain the same (1 Corinthians 6:11, Philippians 2:12-13, Ephesians 2:10, Titus 2:11-14). When a person becomes a Christian they are called out of this world, they are elect and they belong to God (John 15:18-19) which puts them at odds with the world because they're not of it (James 4:4). Why is sorrow for the lost really that important? A lot of stuff that love does can be done without love for other people. It's possible to preach the truth without loving but never to love without preaching the truth. It's possible to do good deeds without love but never love without doing good deeds. God

Part of Continuing the Reformation is Maintaining Peacefulness While Preaching the Truth!

Image
There's the truth that you can tell the truth without loving but you can never love without telling the truth. It's time to ask why do you tell people the truth? Do you tell them the truth because you have selfish motives such as revenge or getting even or do you tell them the truth because you love them? As much as false doctrine must be reproved and no Christian should have any involvement in the works of darkness but love must be the motive. 1 Corinthians 13:1-2 says this truth: Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. It's absolutely necessary to have knowledge of the Scripture to grow. Christians can be guilty of some form of legalism when they're just increasing in knowledge in the Scr

Man's Evolution Towards Godhood Is a Lie!

Image
There's always the hypocrisy that people say, "Only man wrote the Bible!" to dismiss the Bible. Now here's the bigger question that I might want to ask them, "If you say only man wrote the Bible, why are you putting those books by famous atheists as infallible. Why don't you even question them?" They may hypocritically reply that these men have reached perfection. This creates a contradiction since they won't believe the Bible because only man wrote it but they elevate these men have "reached perfection" in writing books defending atheism. One of Satan's biggest lies is teaching evolution as a scientific fact when it isn't. Evolution doesn't necessarily have to be atheistic. The idea of man evolving into a god is already older than Charles Darwin's Origin of Species. Some religions suggest it that you can become a god. Several pagan religions in the East feature that some of their gods and goddesses they worship were onc

Playing With Sin is Dangerous!

Image
It's a big frustration that people today think sin is just a fantasy word. They think that sin is just some "little wrong" and it's harmless. Let me tell you this that sin is not harmless. It doesn't come cheap because it cost God the Father His only Son to die for it. Salvation is free grace but not cheap grace. Sad to say but many people today think that sin is just harmless. They think that it's just playing with a dolphin but they're actually playing with a shark. Every sin has its consequence. Flirt with sin and sin will destroy you one way or another.  In Numbers 32:23 we read, "But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the Lord: and be sure your sin will find you out." The context was that the Tribe of Reuben tried to be lax because they already got their share. But they were warned that if they don't do their job that they can be sure that their sin will find them out. The words "be sure your sin will find y

Continuing the Reformation Daily Also Means to Keep Preaching Against Those Sin-Loving False Converts!

Image
As much as eternal security is Scriptural truth and that you can't lose your salvation, what needs to be also emphasized would be the characteristics of person who's truly once saved, always saved. It's true you can't lose your salvation but it's no call for fireworks that one is free from the Law so you can sin forevermore. A Christian is no longer under the Law but under grace yet by grace, the Christian fulfills the law. Romans 3:31 says that faith doesn't void the Law, rather it fulfills the Law. Titus 2:11-14 says that God's grace teaches righteous living. 1 Corinthians 6:11 says that true salvation brings real change in one's life. 1 John 2:19 teaches that fake converts will eventually fall away proving they were never truly converted. It's easy to say you're once saved, always saved but to be truly once saved always saved means you're in a very difficult position for the rest of your earthy life. The world hates those who are truly

Continuing the Reformation Daily Also Means Upholding Sola Scriptura!

Image
No, there's no reason to believe that the Reformation is over. It's far from over because Reformed Theology is not extinct. While the great Martin Luther protested against the Roman Catholic institution and later renounced it as an anti-Christian system, one must also remember the principles that he upheld were based on Sola Scriptura or Scripture alone. It doesn't mean one only reads the Bible as the only textbook but it's the principle where the Bible regulates tradition and practice. As Charles H. Spurgeon says, "Read many books but live the Bible." 2 Thessalonians 2:15 says, "Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle ." Instead of debunking Sola Scriputra as papists and cultists who claim to be Christians would claim, it affirms it. Paul warned that every tradition in the Christian life must be by their epistle. The Pope's writings are not the epistle of the apos

Calling Something in the Bible as Legalism?

Image
Today is the first day of October and some Christians think about the Reformation. Some may only think about the Reformation as merely a protest against the Roman Catholic institution but it isn't. The Reformation should be viewed as upholding the five Solas against all unbiblical heresies. While Martin Luther fought the idea of salvation by works but he also fought against the idea of Antinomianism. He said: "But our Antinomian friends wish in their folly to flatter secure men and to make them good by reminding them of [imputed] righteousness though such an age as ours is incapable of being terrified by the lightning of the Law. One account of the great sense of [false] security it's necessary to thunder and lightning with the Law."  The Gospel According to Jesus, p. 200 Today, it has become legalism in Laodicean churches to be a fruit inspector even when Jesus warned in Matthew 7:16-20 saying: Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of th
