How False Preachers Become Popular

I remembered the lecture of Pastor Armando Borja when he mentioned about the false preachers and how they become popular.  It's a sad truth for the Christian that the truth tends not to become popular especially when you think about it- Jeremiah was hated, Paul was hated, Peter was hated, Isaiah was hated (and some people say he was even cut in half) and Jesus is always hated for the truth!  In fact, I was thinking about my experience with a Myanmar self-proclaimed man of God who might be into the heresy of "Christian" Buddhism and perhaps a New Ager.  He mocked me to be an extremist, a suicide bomber, etc. and was very accommodating to a so-called Christian who was pretty much with the soft, easy message who didn't attack heresies, just was "easy easy".  Something is pretty wrong there.  Another issue I'd like to raise is pro-Vatican pastors like Joel Osteen and Jim Bakker easily get popular too.  Jeremiah 5:31 warned that the prophets prophesy falsely, the priests bear rule by their means and the people love to have it so.

Think about it, Jeremiah was hated for preaching the truth and Hananiah was loved for telling lies.  Today the world is no better than the time of Jeremiah!  Jesus said in John 15:18-19 that the world hates the Christians, they are not of the world and if they were of the world, the world would love them because it loves its own but they are not of it.  James 4:4 warns that friendship with the world makes one enemies with God.  In fact, ever since I became a Christian, I cannot be a friend of the world anymore!  How do these preachers carry on this worldly viewpoint?  Let's examine the heresies that go around that make these false preachers popular as they preach according tot he viewpoint of the world as they hoard wealth at the same time:

1.) The social gospel or ecumenical gospel.

The late Martin Luther King Jr. was a Jesuit-trained preacher operating in fifty Jesuit-controlled fronts and a 33rd degree Freemason.  In fact, think about it he preached in worldly churches where the late Martin Luther would never preach.  In his own preaching, King admitted that he was pro-Vatican.  Nobody forgot the time he took a bullet.  His wife and children continued his job and later, even a national holiday was made out of his birthday yet nobody bothers to make a holiday out of a godly man like Billy Sunday and Charles Spurgeon.  When a pastor starts preaching an ecumenical gospel, how easy it is to gather people.  In fact, later we have Joel Osteen, Jim Bakker and Jimmy Schwagart who are not only social gospel advocates but like King, were all Jesuit agents!  I'm not surprised at the huge amount of bad comments John Macarthur's Youtube channel gets because he preaches the truth and the same goes for Paul Washer and other preachers of hard truth.  I wasn't even surprised that Paul Washer got kicked out from the SBC because he wasn't giving in to worldly theology and I admire him for taking a stand like that!  I'm not surprised how I am heckled by false preachers.  Obviously the social gospel is all about "feel good" which is not the Gospel according to Jesus.

2.) The prosperity gospel.

After reading Joel Osteen's book "Your Best Life Now", I was so aghast how this guy hardly talks about sin and two, this is a dangerous theology of the prosperity gospel.  I'm not surprised at how many thousands of followers Joel Osteen's Lakewood Church has, his charismatic movement so easily gains followers because people are so concerned with the worldly.  In the Philippines, Apollo Quiboloy managed to present himself as a god and get worshipers by this dangerous gospel when he claims to be the Son of God.  People are looking at God as a source of financial blessings which He is but prosperity is not always the sigh of God's blessing.  When you think about it, the prosperity gospel crowd has perverted Malachi 3:10 to make a quick buck.  Listen, the tithes, love offerings and faith promises are not meant to make people worldly wealthy!  The blessings can be material but they are mostly spiritual.  In fact, the blessings here are not meant to hoard but to share with others.  No pastor should ever preach about tithing with the promise that tithers will become billionaires, that is crooked.  I'm not surprised at how much wealth those pro-Vatican pastors get with their prosperity gospel sham at work.

3.) The worldly gospel.

I am pretty sick at how churches can be so lenient.  Before the Southern Baptist churches were hot for Christ but lately, a lot of them fell apart.  In fact, I don't know if it this is true but Youtube user Jeff Swayzee if I'm not mistaken mentioned that Paul Washer got kicked out from the convention for his hard preaching and not giving in to worldliness.  If that is true, praise God for at least one preacher who stands by the truth. I was looking at how a supposedly Baptist church had gone so liberal- the church has been described as classy, it's attended by many rich people and I wasn't surprised to realize how many of the members are really worldly.  It was so that they would even heckle Pastor Armie Jesalva as an old-fashioned "nutcase" and I was also in that cover.  In fact, their school even allowed children to run around and shout.  In time, their school expanded but something was wrong, it was worldly.  Churches need to expand but as said, many of them are now accommodating false converts which is starving the true Christians in their assemblies and in time, a false preacher takes over.  This pastor may only talk about nice things like "everything will be alright" and he may hardly or never talk about Hell or sin.  Some of them may even have a fellowship that might even sing dirty, worldly music during the youth meetings.  That is incredibly sick if you ask me.  I don't care how popular secular entertainment is, God's Word remains true as it is!

4.) The works gospel.

This is inevitable as man has his pride.  In fact, I have noticed how much arrogant the typical man is to believe in his effort he can please God.  No wonder Ephesians 2:8-9 declares salvation a free gift and not of man's effort so no man can boast and in verse 10, good works come after, not before salvation.  But man in his pride is all about self.  I mean, talk about the deceived child on Christmas who believes that Santa Claus gave him or her the reward for being good (when his parents or whoever was tricking him or her), he or she then brags and says, "I was so good that Santa Claus gave me something!"  That's a picture of man's pride and the works gospel easily appeals to the pride of man.  In fact, I wasn't surprised at how people say I'm an Antinomian because I preach salvation by faith in Christ alone.  Works salvation easily gets popularity because it ultimately leads to the social gospel of ecumenism and eventually a license to sin, that is it's okay to commit adultery because you can make it up by donating huge tons of money mentality because works salvation severely downplays the true holiness of God.
