Yup there are Laodicean Baptist Churches Too!

Here's the problem today, there are also Laodicean Baptist churches today which are really NOT doing their duties as a part of the Church. What's going on? Revelation 3:16-18 says, "I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see."

Here's an interesting note: Laodicea was one of the wealthiest cities of the seven but it had a problem with the water supply. An aqueduct was built and it was connected near the hot spring and by the time the water reached the city, it was lukewarm.

So what's really going on? Looking at the verse here's what's happening in some Baptist churches and the believers in it:

1.) Doing good works but with less enthusiasm or in other words, inconsistent fruit bearing is happening. How true.  The members in one Laodicean Baptist church suffer from a severe lash of attitude problem to the point they tend to falsely accuse people and think they're too good.

2.) Too focused on the material things than the spiritual things. Sad but true. Some Baptist churches have turned into social halls overtime. How?  For example these Baptist churches are becoming populated mostly by the prestigious.  The people wear expensive jewelry, the parking lots are filled with expensive cars, the members hardly talk about Jesus before the services begin and instead they talk about the latest fad.

3.) An attitude of indifference towards the evils of the society. These can be seen through:
  • They DO NOT do much or NO soulwinning activities take place. Sad but true. Then the pastor wonders why his assembly does not grow. That guy is NOT contributing to the Church. So whatever happened to the tithes and offerings? Well it ended up being used for things that DO NOT profit to the Church! Then it comes to a point that the pastor then quarrels with a growing Baptist church.
  • They DO NOT warn their children of the evils in the media.
  • They DO NOT even mind about the Bible version they are using. Sad but true. Some Baptist churches have forgotten the importance of the King James version. However I do not bother to quarrel with these churches either.
  • They DO NOT care much about religious separation. They instead choose to follow the errors of Solomon and Jehoshaphat. Solomon mingled with pagan women even when he was a believer. Jehoshaphat mingled with Ahab who was an unbeliever. In these cases, it can happen when the pastor of that church officiates a wedding between a believer and an unbeliever right INSIDE Christian territory. Also, the pastor may end up becoming a principal sponsor for a Roman Catholic baptism or a Roman Catholic wedding ceremony too!
