God Won't Forget the Christian's Good Works

In contrast to what the works salvation crowd teaches that a Christian when they sin God will forget their labors and they lose their salvation.  However that's NOT in harmony with Ezekiel 33:13 which says, "When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it."  On the other hand, Hebrews 6:10 says, "For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labor of love which ye have showed toward His name in that ye have ministered to the saints and do minister.  And we desire that eveyr one of you do show the same diligence to the full of hope unto the end: that ye be not slothful but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises."  The Christian's work is never forgotten even if they stumble.  God may punish them for their bad doings since He will NEVER condone sin (even if Christians CANNOT lose their salvation) but He will never forget the good they did.

A good illustration would be Solomon.  Nehemiah 13:26 says, "Did not Solomon king of Israel sin by these things yet among them there was no king like him who was beloved of his God and God made him king over all Israel nevertheless even him did outlandish women cause him to sin."  So okay let's face it- Solomon had done MUCH for Israel and built a great revival.  However he sinned by going out with more foreign women ignoring the fact that his one true love was the Shulamite woman (who may actually be an Ammonite by descent, the mother of Rehoboam) who led him into idolatry. God may have punished him for his wrongdoings as a Christian but God did not forget his work. His sin caused Rehoboam to inherit only two tribes.  However did God forget His work?  Again Nehemian 13:26 still acknowledges the fact that Solomon was still a believer- only that he fell into serious sin like most do.  But it would be utterly impossible if he felt no conviction of what he did because Ecclesiastes has him regretting what he did.  Did Solomon repent of his sins and do good to get saved again?  No.  Rather he did do so because he was already saved.

On the other hand, Judas Iscariot was NOT a Christian to start with. He was the only disciple who was not a disciple.  He was false disciple.  He may have done many good works but, sadly he never came to trust Jesus Christ.  In the end, Jesus only had 11 real disciples prior to His crucifixion.  Judas Iscariot was an unrepentant thief and an apostate.  1 John 2:19 best describes what he is- not saved to start with!  From the fact that he stole to the tragic end that he committed suicide proved he was no follower of Christ.
