Beware of Sinister Philanthropists!

It just sickened me a year ago or so when I head how a well-known habitually adulterous businessman after he had passed away from liver cancer in his 50s.  He was hailed as a "good man" because of his donations to various projects, squatter areas and so on- but behind closed doors he was a snob who looked down at his poorer cousins and frequently badmouthed them even if they did nothing wrong to him.  Another, I know a banker who is still hailed a "good man" despite the fact that some of his victims of his financial scams have already voiced out or that he's gotten into many scandals.  Somebody I know would frequently quote of morals and the Ten Commandments when he himself is sinfully living in with another man's wife and he is also married to his wife whom he badmouths and he frequently insults his son a lot to the point his son hates him.

There are many others like tycoons of a much bigger position who despite their scandals, multiple divorces, pedophilia, etc. are still treated as good men all because of their donations.  You might want to talk of the adulterous women who try to "look good" with all their donations or somebody I know who despite the fact she is a horrible nagger is still hailed as a good woman because she keeps on attending Masses.  But the Bible says in Isaiah 64:6 saying, "But we are all as an unclean thing and all our righteousness are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities like the wind have taken us away." which can be evidenced by the dirty secret lives of people.  Works salvation Gospel is nothing more than doing more good to cover up the bad and that's what these sinister philanthropists are- doing good works hoping to cover up the bad works they do creating a license to sin for themselves.  Quite different from Zaccheus who gave his wealth to others only because he had salvation or other wealthy Christian men whose names are usually unknown and prefer to give glory to God for all the money they give to help others without expecting anything in return!

What is worse is that they are hailed as "good men" and "model citizens" because many of them are very religious that their parishioners even if they are aware of the actions of such people are still well-received.  The most common example has to be how these "seemingly good" philanthropists are religious Roman Catholics- frequently seen attending Masses, joining outreach projects with their respective parishes, singing in the choir, they treat their employees well (but it's just show business!) and giving enormous amounts of donation.  Why are they so respected?  It's because they are riding the boat of S.S. Pharisaical or the boat of works-based religion.

Remember the rich young ruler?  He was bragging that all these (the Law) he kept since childhood.  He must have thought his giving alms was enough to get him into Heaven but when Jesus told him, "Sell everything you have and give it to the poor." his sham was exposed- it was obvious he had no real goodness, just show business. But such is just a mask that hides the sinister private lives they live or two, despite their sinful lifestyles they are still hailed as good people by those they have fooled.  All I can say is, "You can fool the public but you can't fool God!"  In fact, what a shame will it be when on Judgment Day as Matthew 7:21-23 many will also boast of their wonderful works yet Jesus will say unto them, "I NEVER KNEW YOU!  DEPART FROM ME YE THAT WORKETH INIQUITY!"  Jesus will expose them again on Judgment Day for the unsaved hypocrites they really are!
