What is Pleasurable is NOT Necessarily Beneficial
The typical mindset of the world is, "If it makes you feel good then do it." and "It's beneficial if it's pleasurable." kind of thinking. But not so in the case of God! In fact a few verses I'd like to share are these verses to take note- Galatians 6:7 says that God is not mocked, 2 Timothy 3:4 warns of people who will be lovers of pleasure than God and Hebrews 11:25 has Moses choosing to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season. In fact, many of what the world thinks are pleasurable are SINFUL. Sin is never without consequences and sadly the unsaved person loves sin but wants to avoid its consequence. A true Christian may fall into sin but has a different attitude towards sin. Now to take a look at what consequences these sins will do and this is just a SHORT LIST:
Alcoholism
It does look cool to be drunk doesn't it but not according to the Bible. Proverbs 20:1 calls alcoholic wine as a mocker, strong drink is raging and whoever is drunk is foolish. 1 Corinthians 6:10 also addresses habitual drunkenness as a state of being unsaved prior to sanctification. Ephesians 5:18 command people not to drink liquor but to be filled with the Holy Spirit. It's very sad indeed how people think getting drunk is cool and all but it's not. Drunkenness is even described by the Bible as a bad state, in Revelation 17:2-6 we read the Great Whore is DRUNK with filth and the blood of the saints. 1 Corinthians 5:11 commands Christians not to associate with drunkards. Drunkards in Proverbs 23:21 calls the drunkard to COME TO POVERTY. The same goes with drug use- there is NOTHING cool about people who do drugs- they are just as stupid as alcoholics. Liquor ban should be done as much as ban of harmful substances like marijuana, cocaine and shabu.
Arrogance
It does feel good to be arrogant but it is not beneficial. Proverbs 8:13, 11:2, 13:10, 14:3, 16:18 and 29:23 warn that before the fall comes pride. 1 Timothy 6:4 calls those arrogant people as ignoramuses, James 4:6 warns that God resists the proud but resists the humble and do does 1 Peter 5:5. Arrogance was the very drug that defined the Pharisees. They were so proud of their self-achievements, they saw themselves as "nothing wrong" with themselves even when in fact they are just as sinful as the tax collectors and prostitutes they despise. Haman's tragic end was his pride- he felt he was too important that Mordecai should worship him, who does Haman think he is? It was this pride that caused Haman not only in his desire to kill Mordecai but also the WHOLE Jewish race. Instead, he suffered for his pride like when he had to lead Mordecai to the plaza and eventually, he was hanged and all his co-conspirators (his sons) were hanged as well. The Jews of Jesus' day were so arrogant they refused Him as their Messiah. In fact, arrogant people are most likely unsaved and degenerate, they are so arrogant they refuse to come to Jesus. John 5:40 says that they will not come, not that they cannot come. Such people will never repent of their sins, they will never repent of their unbelief either. In recent times, Muamar Gaddafi's arrogance caused him to be butchered by the very people he mistreated.

Pornography
Sure it may seem "manly" to be watching pornography but most people don't realize that it really causes much crime aside from drug use and alcoholism. In Exodus 32:25, Moses went nuts when he saw that the people were NAKED that he realized that serious camp cleaning had to be done. In 2 Samuel 11, notice that David's sin all began with the eye when he saw Bathsheba uncovered in the late of night- which led him to steal her, commit adultery with her in bed, lying to Uriah and if nothing worked he committed murder! It's more than adultery and murder, he was guilty of thieving, coveting and lying as well! Was it worth it? Today sexual crimes from the Roman Catholic clergy and the public schools happen because of pornographic obsession. In fact, porn sites today are now more than just naked people- they introduce the sins of Sodom and Gomorrah like anal sex, oral sex, homosexuality, bestiality and pedophilia. It's wrong to condemn sexual harassment IF you yourself are watching pornographic films because what you feed your mind may affect your actions!

Sex outside marriage
While it does seem to be just a one night affair, however a one night affair of many consequences. 2 Samuel 11-12 describe David's sin of adultery with Bathsheba in detail like a crime report. David's sin caused him to pay FOUR TIMES- the first child with Bathsheba died, Amnon raped Tamar, Absalom rebelled and Adonijah rebelled. Was it worth it? No. Today, we really get Proverbs 5:11 which says that the flesh and the body are consumed at last because of the strange woman. Womanizers waste their money, adulteresses make a fool of themselves even if they may get money but they are definitely damaging themselves aside from others, harlots get money but they ruin their health, adulterers may end up having children that may commit incest with each other and it's just not worth it.

Sin is sin no matter what
This is just a few. Sin-loving people CANNOT be considered as Christians because even if Christians may sin, they DO NOT love sin. I really just beg my readers who hate me to consider their eternal salvation before it's too late.
