The Stupidity of Comparing Born Again Christianity's Anti-Homosexuality Agenda vs. Islam's Anti-Homosexual Agenda

Homosexuals refuse to tell the difference between Christianity and Islam.  Seldom, I read from some of Dr. John F. Macarthur's books that some people associate Christianity's moral stand to that of "religious extremism".  Likewise, one of the reasons why homosexuals seek to criminalize Christianity is for the latter's stand that homosexuality is immoral.  Homosexuals always love to raise the uncalled for question, "So how does it affect you personally." then compare Christians to the brutality of Islam.

Islam views homosexuality is wrong and so does Christianity.  The difference is the approach used to deter homosexuality.  The Islamic approach against homosexuality is questionable.  For example, back in February 1998, the Taliban publicly executed homosexuals.  Recently, ISIS' own brand of legalism would have created a stir.  How did ISIS deal with homosexuals?  Last December 10, 2014 the ISIS terrorists executed a man for being a homosexual.  Last January 18, 2015 the ISIS also threw homosexual men off the tower.  As much as I admire certain people for going against homosexuality but how they deal with homosexuality is just wrong.

I would admit that the Old Testament did require stoning of homosexuals to death.  However, a lot of sins would have already gotten me and you to death.  Sins like disrespecting parents and stealing were also punishable by death.  The civil law of the Old Testament showed the severity of sin and that the wages of sin is death.  The New Testament had not changed the moral law.  Although Christians may eat bacon and shrimp but homosexuality is still condemned as a sin.  Not everything in the Old Testament was abolished.  The moral law still made it to the New Testament.  The New Testament did not abolish everything in the Old Testament law otherwise sins like adultery and stealing would be permissible.

Let us take a look at how the New Testament approaches sexual immorality.  Although Jesus did not condone any sexual immorality and showed its severity, yet He offered forgiveness to the woman caught in adultery.  Remember that the Pharisees had no proper trial and stoning could not be carried out without a proper hearing.  Times came when the disciples wanted fire to come down from Heaven but Jesus rebuked their actions.  Although the New Testament condemns homosexuality, it has a different approach.  Sad to say but homosexuals especially the atheists among them just love to take the Bible out of context for their own convenience.

Remember when Paul wrote to the Romans and the Corinthians.  Romans 1:18-22 and 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 condemn homosexuality.  However, he did not call for brutal treatment of homosexuals.  While he did not preach a watered down Gospel to sinners, he called for repentance of sins and forgiveness in the Lord Jesus Christ and not for the death of the sinful people.  1 Corinthians 6:11 says that such were some people before they were saved but God's power is greater than sin.  Instead of calling for their deaths, he calls for their repentance of their sin and receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.  He leaves the end of homosexuals to God's wrath rather than calling Christians to destroy them.  In short, comparing Christianity's stand against homosexuality to Islam's stand against homosexuality is just like comparing bananas and mangoes.
