Conditional Security is STILL Works Salvation!
The conditional security crowd can argue, "Well we don't teach works salvation." That is a very terrible lie. Many of them continue to misrepresent preachers like Paul Washer, Robert Charles Sproul, Estus Pirkle, Ray Comfort and John MacArthur who stress that Christians will endure to the end by God's grace and that no Christian can completely fall away or die spiritually to be against works when in reality, they preach that Christians will do good works because of God's grace and they preach if Christians stumble to sin, God uses punishment by other means but not loss of salvation to get the Christian back on track. Wow! What a mind blowing and heavy accusation!
As always said, the conditional security crowd wants to take merit for themselves yet many of them are adulterers, drunkards, homosexuals, idolaters and yet they continue to teach such faulty doctrine! They really should be aware of the fact they can't even keep their own doctrine. One has to note many of them are earning a LOT of ill gotten wealth, living lives of luxury and ease to the point they could even open a private golf club. And to no surprise, some of them are even incarcerated in jail for crimes that affect public safety like murder, rape, pedophilia and robbery!
Remember the Pharisees? The Pharisees thought they were so righteous yet they were full of dirt within. Isaiah 64:6 calls our righteousness to be filthy rags. They believed they were good enough and wanted to take credit for their salvation. When Jesus pointed out how hopeless men are, the Pharisees got so mad they wanted Jesus dead!
So what is conditional security? According to the conditional security crowd (and worse the so-called sinless perfection crowd), a person is initially saved saved by faith but it must be maintained by works or lose them. These self-righteous preachers deny they teach works salvation and legalism yet they however show they do. Here are some of the stupid claims that can happen:
- David lost his salvation when he committed adultery with Bathsheba and murdered her first husband Uriah.
- Solomon was once saved and went to Hell afterward.
- Judas Iscariot was once a Christian then lost his salvation.
Just some refutes to their faulty statements above. As said, this ministry WILL NOT give the reader their URLs as NEVER to give them any more traffic than they already have:
- David did not lose his salvation. In reality, Matthew 5:28 says that if any man lust after the opposite sex that is already good as adultery! 1 John 3:5 says that all who hate are murderers!
- If Solomon lost his salvation then it's time to tear out his literature from the Bible. But honestly, Solomon was proven to be still saved and remained saved in Ecclesiastes when he repented of the foolishness he did and turned back to God.
- Judas Iscariot was NO Christian. John 17:12 has Jesus saying that NONE of the disciples were lost but Judas Iscariot. Every so-called ex-believer was not a believer to start with. 1 John 2:19 is clear that either these people are truly saved or not. True conversion results to true endurance and continued fellowship even if inconsistencies do happen.
Now why the Bible DOES NOT teach conditional security and why eternal security cannot grant a license to sin:
- Matthew 7:13-14 says that the road is narrow that leads to life. The fact that strait is the gate and narrow is the way like a turnstile, it admits only one person at a time making salvation intensely personal. When a person has walked the narrow road, certainly they will just keep going forward in the long run even if they fall back in the short run.
- John 6:37 has Jesus' assurance that anybody who comes to Him will not be cast out. Besides, Jesus does more than save- He changes the lives of all who come to Him.
- Ephesians 2:8-10 is clear that salvation is never by works yet it results to works. If one had to avoid sinning to stay saved, that's still works salvation. But God in His mercy and justice while He definitely will not leave the Christian who fell down unpunished yet He will not cast them out.
- Salvation brings a real changed life and it's ALL God's work. Titus 2:11-15 is clear that God's grace changes the life of the believer. Philippians 2:13 says that the Christian's good work is not their own but God that works in them. It's all God's work.
- Also for verses like 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 and Galatians 5:19-21, here's reality. To be honest, nobody is really exempt from that list. 1 Corinthians 6:11 shows that man when redeemed not by his own efforts but by God's work will cease from a life of sin. As said, Christians may fall into sin and carnality at times but there is NO SUCH THINGas a Christian who is living like the rest of the lost world in sinful pleasures without remorse because God's grace is present in their lives.
Also conditional security is against the very ethics of non-contradiction. Romans 11:6 is clear that salvation is either by faith that produces works or by works that can't profit. Ephesians 2:8-10 is clear that nobody ever gets saved by their own efforts much less kept by it rather Christians do good works because they are in God's purpose. If one is saved by A, they cannot be saved by B and if one is saved by B, one cannot be saved by A. Robert Charles Sproul makes it clear that the logic of conditional security is nothing more than works salvation repackaged in a more deceitful manner. They can deny they don't teach works salvation but the issue is if a Christian has to do good works to stay saved rather than living a holy life by the grace of God alone, that's still works salvation.
This ministry remains confident that Christian good works are but only evidence of God when He starts His work on a believer, He will definitely finish it that the Christians who runs the race reaches the finish line only by the grace of the Lord of their lives- the Lord Jesus Christ! That means Christians will finish the race and those who departed are but sit-ins (1 John 2:19). And here's what- the whole problem with conditional security is a matter of PRIDE!
