As I was doing some Bible reading today - I felt that I should write about the very dangerous doctrine of Balaam. The influence of Balaam goes beyond Numbers 22-24 which talk about the prophet for profit. He knew that Israel was God's chosen nation yet he chose to go against it for the sake of money. Balak means devastator and Balaam means not of the people. As a soothsayer and an unsaved man - it's obvious that he would care more about money than God. The New Testament has these to say about Balaam: 2 Peter 2:15  Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam, the son of Bosor (Beor) who loved the wages of unrighteousness ;  Jude 1:11  Woe unto them! It's really find it crazy how a heresy that says you can receive Jesus Christ as your Savior but submitting to Him as Lord is completely optional. That idea left me blank-faced because of the fact that Romans 10:9 says this one truth: That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Did you read that? Confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus Christ. It's really similar to confessing that Jesus is Lord. If your Jesus is not Lord then you are not saved. I find the idea that Jesus should just be my personal Savior but not my personal Lord and Savior. That would make every Christian the personal servant of their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Jesus is Lord yet why do so many want to deny His Lordship? I remembered that some people did get saved after they said the sinner's prayer. As Paul David Washer would say it, he would say it as, "Some of you here are saved not because of it but in spite of it." If there's any reason why some sinner's prayer evangelism managed to succeed is because of the following reasons: The pastor is not wishy-washy in his preaching. He promotes repentance of sins as part of salvation. He convicts sin which people go to the altar call and pray their own sinner's prayer (or seldom repeat after me) where they put their trust in the Savior and not in the prayer. If said "converts" are not living according to the Christian life, the pastor confronts them not by saying, "Look you're a Christian and you shouldn't be doing that!" Instead, he says something like, "If you think you have a license to sin after you're saved then you're a fake convert. True converts don't want to live life the sa...

I remembered a couple of incidents that happened in a Baptist church and academy. One pastor who was in charge of having chapel hours ended up writing that he ended saying that worship services, youth fellowship and chapel hours should be a time to unwind. That's why he was introducing charismatic methods of worship for that reason. True, worship services are a time to unwind but he had started introducing the dangerous world of Charismatic Chaos. This pastor is probably an adherent of the heretical Bapticostal movement where elements of the Pentecostal worship has been integrated into the Baptist church. I would agree that worship services, youth fellowship and chapel hours are indeed times to unwind. Who doesn't want at least an hour or two to rest with God on a Sunday morning or evening service or the Wednesday evening service? Youth fellowships and chapel hours also help time to unwind from the stress of work and school. But we are not talking about having worldly fun ...

It's sickening at how some preachers today preach the damnable heresy of changeless Christianity. Changeless Christianity teaches that you can get saved and remain the same. I have read the Bible cover to cover several times and I don't read even one verse that says you can get saved and stay the way they are. I've read Romans 4:5 but that's not the entire message. True it says to him that worketh not but did they read the last part? It says God counts said person to righteousness. Counted to righteousness! What a wonderful truth about it that even a changed lifestyle is by God's grace! One could go back to the story of Jesus and the woman caught in adultery. John 8:1-11 shows us several lessons. If one lesson has that you have no right to take the Law into your hands (and that's what the Pharisees were doing in this situation) then the other is about, "Go and sin no more." Whether you believe it or not unsaved pastors do exist. They are pastors in name only but not pastors whom God has appointed in Ephesians 4:11 and Jeremiah 3:15. Anybody can be a pastor but not anybody is truly a man of God. The book of Jeremiah is so full of condemnation of wicked pastors (shepherds) and priests who were not men of God. Jeremiah 5:31 has the priests getting popularity as they bear rule by their means. Today, you've got pastors becoming popular as they run things not the biblical way but their own twisted way. It bothers me to think how some quack pastors are  They are the erring pastors in Jeremiah. In the Old Testament, they are comparable to the priests who have erred in so much error. Yesterday was the 500th anniversary of the Reformation. But should the Reformation end at 500? No, the Reformation should continue. The Reformation was inspired by heroes before it. Just imagine it if the heroes of the Reformation decided to let all the efforts of the pre-Reformation heroes die in vain. Right now, it's time to consider this new truth that the American churches need a new Reformation. Why do American churches badly need a new Reformation? I listened to a couple of Paul David Washer's sermons that really made my day. I wish I were there in person to shake his hand because I'm getting pissed off with the "Christianity" of the modern world. There's a huge argument between the Papists and the Reformers about what authentic faith is. The stand isn't just merely between Papists and the Reformers as it goes as far as Papists, anti-Catholic cults and the true born again Christians (Protestant or not) on what James means by faith without works is dead. Is James saying that in order to get saved or to stay saved that you must add faith to good works? Perhaps one reason why Martin Luther once thought of the Book of James as an epistle of straw was because it felt like the author added good works to saving faith. I remembered having a dialogue with a third degree cousin of mine who was a Roman Catholic apologist. He knew I was a former Catholic turned Baptist. I had a conversation with him and he told me that I should examine the Book of James to see good works are required for justification.
