The Gospel According to Jesus Has NEVER Been About Saving People From Life's Problems but Salvation From the Power of Sin
It's really stupid how so many quack preachers claiming to be born again Christians preach this message, "Believe in Jesus and He will fix all your problems, your finances, your health problems, He will make you rich..." because that is NOT the Gospel. The Christian has NEVER been promised a life free of trials. The more one reads the Scripture, the more one sees the truth that the Christian life will be full of tribulation before the triumph. There's no reason for the Christian to be surprised when trials and tribulations come because Jesus already warned about it.
Try to carefully read Matthew, Mark, Luke and John and you won't find any promise that being a Christian on this Earth means to be saved from life's trials. Instead, the Christian is promised the bitter truth that if anybody who's going to walk for Christ will be hated by the world. If anybody is going to conform to Christ-like behavior then that person is never going to be loved by the rest of the world. That person is going to be wrongly labeled and attacked by the world for things he or she didn't do or things he or she didn't say because he or she lives the Christian life.
Those who preach a Madison Avenue Jesus are really greatly mistaken. What kind of Jesus do you preach who promises health, wealth and prosperity all the time? That's not the Biblical Jesus. That's another Jesus that will just damn people to Hell. The real message of the Gospel has been about sin and the Savior. Many false conversions happen today because the Gospel has been perverted into a prosperity view which isn't biblical. I have no reason to believe that Jesus wants me happy, wealthy and healthy all the time because as John 15:18-19 declares that I'm not of this world.
