Dear Christian, It's Foolish to Expect Yourself to Be Treated Better Than Jesus Christ

John 15:18-20 says, "If the world hate you, ye know that it hated Me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also."

If the world hates Jesus then it will hate His followers. If the Jesus you preach is the Jesus that the world loves then that's another Jesus (2 Corinthians 11:14). Jesus already warned that the world hated Him before it hated His followers. If you're going to stand by Jesus, expect the world not to love you. The world crucified Jesus for speaking nothing but the truth. They persecuted Jesus and they will persecute Him more along with those with Him.

Did you know that when Christians were persecuted wrongfully they were charged with crimes that they didn't commit? That shouldn't be any surprise because Jesus allowed Himself to be murdered for crimes He didn't commit so Christians can be redeemed. He allowed the hatred of the world to hit Him and He will allow the hatred of the world to hit Him. But there's one comfort to the Christian being hated by the world is that Satan and his demons must first get God's permission before they're allowed to inflict any harm on the believer. God is in control of whatever trials Christians undergo and He knows what He's doing (Romans 8:28).
