Is Pastor Ray Comfort's Use of the Law to Reveal Sin in Preaching Flawed?

The answer is a BIG FLAT NO! It has come to mind that Pastor Ray Comfort of CARM.ORG and Living Waters is being criticized FALSELY and UNFAIRLY by false preachers that he is being Ray Discomfort (that's because he preaches messages that cause extreme discomfort to people who love their sin but comfort to preachers who preach against sin using the Law) because he preaches by presenting the Law as a way to show sinners that they are NEVER GOOD ENOUGH for Heaven. Some of the worst proponents of conditional security even tried to put him in heated debate. So what's really the point? To be honest, Hell's Best Kept Secret is really true with evangelization. Pastor John Rice said, "If you are not preaching against sin, then don't expect salvation." How can sin be presented? By the LAW. That's right the L-A-W- Law! If they can't read it, they really need to go to an eye doctor or better yet, reexamine themselves!

The Bible is clear that the Law is a SIN REVEALER to all men. Deuteronomy 31:26 calls the Law a witness against sin. Romans 3:10-19 calls all people under the Law of God guilty because of sin. Galatians 3:21 calls the Law as the schoolmaster that points to Jesus Christ. If there is no presentation of the Law, how can people know they are sinners? So here's reality- no Law preaching, no salvation. They try to argue that the Apostles nor Jesus Christ did not do Law preaching. That really deserves a slam on the FACE.

So here's a little bit to review on Peter's first Sunday service in Acts 2. Peter himself being the first pastor of the New Testament Church in the Jerusalem branch (that's where he was ordained as pastor). Although Peter did not run through the Ten Commandments but he really spoke against sin in his first Sunday service. He really mentioned to the crowd that they committed murder when they had Jesus crucified and slain. In fact, he really addressed they were sinners. So maybe no presentation of the ten commandments but sin was presented and he quoted the Old Testament prophecies. Psalm 19:7 says that the LAW converts the soul of the sinner to righteousness. Or maybe one must go back to Jesus and the rich young ruler. Jesus mentioned the LAW to the rich young ruler of what is written therein. By presenting the LAW, Jesus was clear about this- nobody can fully keep it. In fact, one of the MANY reasons why evangelism is failing is because people DO NOT SEE the whole Law. They do not see what is wrong with them. Again, the writings of the Apostle Paul make appeal to the Law as the very measurement that shows man needs to receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. That means no presenting the Law, NO SALVATION! Why? It's because until people see that they need to be saved, they'll never want to get saved. Funny how many who teach works salvation are against such preaching!

Here's how the Law really reveals the need of salvation. People must understand the whole Gospel of salvation. Romans 3 is in fact quite sufficient to present what the Gospel really requires for salvation. James 2:10-11 is clear that one does not need to disobey all the ten commandments to go to Hell- it just takes ONE SIN to stumble with all. Jesus Christ revealed that hatred equals murder, lust equals adultery, that hypocrisy is a sin, that divorce equals adultery, that marriage was always designed between man and woman to present the Law even if it's not all of it.

When godly preachers really stress the fact that nobody can keep the Law and gave the ten commandments challenge, man these people really realized they needed to be saved. The next to happen was that thanks to his preaching, many left their lives of sin only by the grace of God. On the other hand, many Pharisaical preachers are totally living a life of sin while they teach the IMPOSSIBLE MEANS OF SALVATION! Just look at how bitter, abrasive, unforgiving, deceitful and hateful they are. They don't need to be mentioned... they mention themselves!

As said, he should just ignore negative write-ups against him, he should not mind them and just keep preaching and every Christian should do the same.
