Are Proponents of Salvation by Faith Alone Against Good Works?

This is year one of my new blog.  Well as usual, many of the unsaved do hate me but I love them enough to tell them the truth.

There is one incredibly weak argument by the works salvation crowd who teach that salvation has either to be earned or maintained by good works that by teaching faith alone in Jesus Christ is sufficient for salvation being against good works.  There are in fact MANY clowns out there who are exposing themselves whenever they uphold such heresy.  So are proponents of salvation by faith alone Antinomian?  Let's try and see with a few preachers here as they "lend a hand" to show that eternal security is NOT a license to sin:
  • "What it is, is a sad admission to the amount of confidence we have in the power of our message and in the keeping power of God. If God has saved them, God will keep them. If they’re born of God, they’ll never die. If He’s begun a good work in them, He’ll complete it to that Day. If He is the author of their faith, He’ll be the finisher of their faith. He’s able to save to the uttermost them that come to God by Him. He’s able to keep them from falling and to present them faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy. Jesus said no one will pluck you from my Father’s hand." (Hell's Best Kept Secret audio tape)- Ray Comfort
  • PERSEVERANCE OF THE SAINTS. Those whom God has accepted in the Beloved, and sanctified by His Spirit, will never totally nor finally fall away from the state of grace, but shall certainly persevere to the end; and though they may fall, through neglect and temptation, into sin, whereby they grieve the Spirit, impair their graces and comforts, bring reproach on the Church, and temporal judgments on themselves, yet they shall be renewed again unto repentance, and be kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation.- Paul Washer

So what's the whole issue?  Looking at it, Pastor Paul Washer and Pastor Ray Comfort are clear here in saying this: salvation is not the work of man but of God.  Even if a Christian can fall into sin they CANNOT live like devils because of their conversion nor can they completely fall away again as a result of their conversion.  Again there is NO such thing as an ex-Christian that would make it look as Judas Iscariot was NEVER saved to start with (1 John 2:19).  A Christian's perseverance, continuing faith is NOT the work of man but still God that works in them.  Philippians 2:13 is clear that it's God work never the work of man.  Ephesians 2:8-10 and Titus 2:11-15 reveal that Christians should never take credit for any good work that results because it's God's grace, not their efforts.  Why does the conditional security proponent hate such doctrine?  It's simple- they want to take credit for their good works and staying saved.

In fact salvation is simple as this, "Nothing in my hand I bring, only to the Cross of Christ I cling."  That is hands down, stop working one's own efforts, complete and total surrender to the grace and mercy of the Lord Jesus Christ, recognizing Him for who He is- King of Kings and Lord of Lords.  As said, salvation does more than save the person, it puts them under the Lordship of Christ from day one until ETERNITY.  And the good works of a Christian are not out of necessity but out of inevitable gratitude, the fruit of REAL salvation.  On the other hand, so many people who continue to insist in works salvation are living like devils while throwing the same lame old accusation.

Now if salvation can't be lost then a Christian doesn't lose the following either:
  • Power against sin as an overcomer by the grace of God
  • The grace of God that leads unto good works
  • Holy Spirit conviction that attacks the Christian whenever they fall into sin
  • The righteousness imputed by God through His Son the Lord Jesus Christ that changes the life of a believer
  • Hatred for sin and all it stands for
  • Loving to obey God

As said, true salvation cannot be lost and Christians will display their perseverance only because they are in Christ, nothing more than that.
