We Gave You the Good News Already, It's Your Problem If You Reject It!

The responsibility of the Christian is not to get everybody saved but to tell everyone how to be saved.  That is, every Christian is a seed planter.  However the disappointment can come when somebody can say, "I preached and I preached and I have not gotten anybody to repent."  Truth is, every Christian who does their part in soulwinning in any way will face rejection.  In His earthly ministry, you cannot show me anywhere in the Bible that says that Jesus was well-accepted- He was NOT.  The Apostles were more persecuted than popular- they may have been popular among brethren but NEVER among the wicked.  Think about the instances of how Christianity was met with much hostility and rejection proving Christians cannot win everybody to the Lord even if they preach it right.  Jesus warned ahead in John 15:18-19 that the world will hate Christians because they are not of the world, they are of Christ.  Every friend of the world is in fact an enemy of God and Christians being friends of God are enemies of the world.  I just think of it, people want a Gospel to appeal to their pride, the viewpoint of the world but sorry no can do.  Jesus didn't water down His Gospel just because people will get upset.  No, truthfully the Gospel did offend me when I heard of salvation is by grace through faith alone and that there was nothing I can do to merit salvation because I'm a lost sinner.  Seriously it took the very thought of Hell to convict me that Hell will be no party place.  In fact, forget about watered down evangelism, it will only result to more false converts.

Sadly, not everybody responded to the Gospel message except a few because they think it's bigoted and hateful.  Well tell that to Jesus because He said in John 14:6, "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life, no man cometh unto the Father EXCEPT through Me."  Bigoted?  Not at all.  Jesus was in fact warning in Matthew 7:13-14 on this that strait is the gate and narrow is the way that leads unto life and FEW there be that find it and that wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to damnation and MANY enter.  Just a refresher, this narrow gate is as big as a turnstile to which only one person can be admitted at one time.  That means, you cannot enter by pairs.  Salvation is an intensely personal issue and it's true that nobody gets saved by groups, people get saved as individuals.  Nobody can be saved or another.  It doesn't mean that if I am a pastor of God my unbelieving relatives can ride on me and forget about getting saved.  The answer is completely no.  Salvation is too intensely personal to be a group ride to be shared.  The way of salvation can be shared but not salvation itself.  The narrow gate means that no luggage can be taken in- that includes the lifestyle of sin and self-righteousness.  When a person chooses Jesus, they really will cross that narrow road regardless the cost even if it's their career.  Talk about how any former porn star turned Christian has transitioned from being Rahab the harlot to being Rahab the believer.  She knew it could cost her career as a porn star if she received the Lord Jesus Christ but she took the cost anyway.  But the wide gate has no restrictions, people want to get what they want.  In fact, the wide gate is filled with the crowds who believe in popular opinions over God's Word.  Sadly, that is what is happening today!

Remember the parable of the sower?  As said, there are stony hearts, weedy hearts, shallow hearts and the good heart.  In short, we do not know what kind of hearers we have.  All that can be done is to preach the message of salvation as it is- without compromise.  Remember the Gospel according to Jesus is no different from the Gospel according to the Apostles.  However we have the problem of the sin-loving crowd, the self-righteous crowd and the worldly crowd.  These people receive the Gospel and bear no fruit.  The reason is, the seed reached to them but because of the conditions of pride, licentiousness and self-righteousness it will not permit the seed to grow.  Only the heart that is repentant, mourning and sorrowful about sin ultimately comes to God in true acceptance.  However I can be confident that through this blog, I can see people would inevitably respond to the Gospel.  Not everyone, but there will be a few who will enter the narrow road to life.  I've read how Charles Haddon Spurgeon as great as a preacher as he was, even experienced the reality of false converts in his majestic pulpit.  But what he did was to keep in confidence of the work of the Lord, until the day is done.  In truth, because of the reality of the parable of the sower, the Gospel must never be watered down a single bit.  The Law in itself is the sin revealer (Romans 3:19) and unless people know the righteousness of God, that bedrock, those weeds or thorns, and those hard surfaces can break by the power of the Holy Spirit of God.

Truth is, I hate sin but NOT the sinner.  I love the sinner so much that I will tell them that unless they repent of their sins, they will perish with their sins.  Biblical repentance of the believer includes a repentance of sin, or a change of mind.  Unless people are willing to turn from their sins, they will NEVER turn to the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation.  People who go to Hell have nobody else to blame but themselves.  Remember Jesus said in John 5:40, "Ye will not come..." NOT "You cannot come."  He drove away those who pretended to come like the rich young ruler, who was only coming to Him in hopes of being justified of his self-righteousness.  To those who are repentant, He sees not only their bodies but their hearts are coming to Him.  And yes, the invitation is still open but only for the living.  Hebrews 9:17 says that there is only one chance in this life, once to die but after this the Judgment.
