Christian Lifestyle is NOT Just Lifestyle, It INCLUDES Soulwinning!

In soulwinning, it's important to have lifestyle evangelism.  Christian life must be consistent with salvation testimony.  After all, when we think about it, salvation changes life by God's grace and submission to the Lordship of Christ is a daily basis.  He became Lord to the moment a person get saved.  Now are Christians just bound to lifestyle evangelism?  The answer is no, no and no.  It is true indeed that Jesus said in Matthew 5:16 that to let one's light shine before men BUT there is also the mission of EVANGELISM.  Remember both Christian values and evangelism walk side by side.  In Matthew 28:19-20 is also sending people to EVANGELIZE, that's right evangelize.

Why is lifestyle not enough?  For one, it's  dangerous to think that it's enough to show one's changed life.  IT IS NOT.  Preachers like Charles Spurgeon, Jonathan Edwards, John Gill and other famous Christian preachers weren't stuck with just the fruit of Christian living.  They were really hard on sin!  Aside from the dangers of easy prayerism which people think they are saved just because they prayed a certain prayer, relying solely on lifestyle is NOT appropriate soulwinning.  Remember John the Baptist confronted Herod Antipas about his adultery (because he was married) and his incest (for having sexual relations with his niece Herodias the daughter of Aristobolus).  In Acts, we DO NOT see just lifestyle evangelism.  Paul and Peter were preaching about sin and the Savior!  We don't just see the Apostles do good deeds, they also preached!  Today, one of the best examples of lifestyle and preaching evangelism is Paul David Washer who not only has helped with charitable work but never ever failed to preach the Gospel to those he helped!

I could point this out that lifestyle evangelism only is dangerous because it can turn into mendicancy and condoning false religion.  It's useless for Christians to set up feeding programs for the poor IF they are not sharing the Gospel.  I mean, why should a Christian guy save a Muslim guy who's been badly beaten and then leave the person unwitnessed to and unaware of his condition of going to Hell?  He did what was right but also did what was wrong- he FAILED to evangelize to the Muslim.  Certainly the Muslim guy might be touched that an "infidel" should have him but he needs to hear the Gospel.  In short, they'll say, "The Christians are great guys because they do good deeds without telling us we are wrong."  Now that's when it becomes dangerous. While Christianity bears the fruit of charity, it must however never ignore the need for soulwinning.  It's utterly foolish to think people will be converted just by one's lifestyle of living right, no Christian lifestyle must INCLUDE soulwinning and biblical preaching if it ever expects to be completely living right!
