Ray Comfort On "Are You Controlled By Other's Opinions or By God's Standards?"

"Being controlled by the opinion of others is a guaranteed way to miss God's purpose for your life."
~ Ray Comfort

It is very easy to have that crowd pleasing mentality in one's head.  It is not easy to combat the mentality that as long as others are pleased then what you did is right even when it it is wrong.  What is right and wrong is not because people accept you or praise you but because it is in accordance to the Word of God.  It becomes a burden when one thinks, "What are others going to think about me?"

The Bible offers a very different view.  Romans 12:2 says, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."  In short, do not seek approval from the world.  If you are going to stand by God, expect all sorts of malicious attacks from Satan.  Speak against the popular evils of this world and expect the world to stone you.

It is very important to have the mentality of I will please God no matter what.  Jesus only cared about doing the will of the Father and He did it perfectly.  When Jeremiah and Elijah wanted to stop preaching, God chastised them back on track.  When Christian cower and run away then expect that God always drags them, gives them a whopping and sets them back on track.
