An Illustration of Relativism in the School Environment

Note: The event below is meant to be a bad joke against the relativist.

So here's the situation, an atheist teacher quoted, "Class there are no absolutes.  There is no good, no evil, only pitiless indifference.  Everything is relative."  So in short, that is what is right and wring is dictated by the person.  So in short, he tries to make himself the final authority even if he isn't while making it not obvious.

Here are situations that where he would really make a fool out of himself:

Situation #1- At the school canteen, a student rudely cuts in line.  He says, "Can't you read the rules, teachers first?"  Then the student says, "Sir you said what is right and wrong is based on the person and I think it's right that students should go first."

Situation #2- He is assigned to teach values education.  He proceeds to condemn the practices of human sacrifices and Islamic wars as unjust and evil.  Then a student says, "Sir didn't you say everything is relative?  Well it was right for the Muslim terrorists to blow up the mall yesterday because it says so in their Koran.  Or what about the human sacrifices?  Wasn't it taught as right too?  It was right for them.  So where's your standard to weigh right and wrong?"  He could not answer further.

Situation #3- It was test time.  Now a student is caught cheating and he gets mad.  He says, "Do you realize that cheating is against the school rules.  I could have you suspended for it."  Then the student answers back and says, "Sir I remember your lecture that says that there is no good, no evil, nothing but pitiless indifference and that everything is relative.  Then because I think it's right to cheat therefore you have no ground to punish me for cheating."

Looking at the three situations, he loses his stand to exert his authority because he was no real standard to measure truth by, in which authority is meant to correct the wrongs of society but he himself, has lost his authority because he has no real authority with relativism.  As said, what is right is measured as wrong, what is wrong is measured as right or everything is right and there is no wrong- it's a pretty confusing world.  Their misery is based on the fact that they are enjoying the pleasures of their own wrongdoings only to later suffer from it, but still refuse to turn to God.
