It's easy to be too focused on Roman Catholicism without considering that every cult has its own set of rivals. Consider the history of religion when cults appear - rival cults also appear. Islam has been rivals with contemporary Judaism and Roman Catholicism. Roman Catholicism also has rivals in the form of anti-Catholic cults. Just because someone speaks against Rome doesn't mean they're automatically saved. The Roman Catholic institution is really not so full of surprises if you know its history. Recently, the former president of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP), Archbishop Socrates Villegas, has decided to reveal his outrage over the denial of the ABS-CBN government franchise . Also, Villegas even dares to mention against the Anti-Terrorism Law . Valid concerns should be raised against the Anti-Terrorism Law that it might be misused and abused and any defects concerning it must be addressed. It's really disheartening that I used to support the late Billy Graham back when I was saved. What I didn't realize that the Grahams themselves were involved in ecumenism. I don't want to deny that Islam had something to do with the 9/11 attacks which happened last 2001. The very act of the Twin Towers falling down is a great act of terrorism. I'm amazed at how stupid people can be without Christ. Palm Sunday is today and it would be best to address the stupidity of "blessed palms". I remembered I was a former Roman Catholic and I tore apart some "blessed palms" and got spanked for it, I was made to confess to the priest who blessed it and was told to do penance. I remembered how some people were scolded for accidentally burning the "blessed palms". Today is the commemoration of the arrival of Jesus into Jerusalem. The Chinese New Year is approaching and while there's nothing inherently wrong with celebrating it (just get away from the pagan mumbo-jumbo) - I felt like it's best to talk about the problem of Chinese syncretists and how confused they are. Syncretism is defined as the amalgamation or attempted amalgamation of different religions, cultures or schools of thought. Others may define it as blending Christian and pagan beliefs. So what's with Chinese syncretism? I don't find it surprising that you have Chinese Roman Catholics, Buddhists or Taoists who aren't exactly solid in their adherence to one of these religions.
