Lent is Over, It's Time For A Lot of Roman Catholics to Return to BEING WORLDLY!
It cannot be denied how I have observed the hypocrisy involving Lent especially during Ash Wednesday and Holy Week by a lot of Roman Catholics. When I think about it, I remembered how Holy Week isn't so holy when it comes to a lot of Roman Catholics. Although their religion teaches salvation is initially by faith but it must be kept by works (which overall is still works salvation if you teach that a person must do good works to remain saved), many of them do end up living almost close to an Antinomian (believing that a Christian is free from the moral law) or being Antinomian by their actions even when they are not Antinomian by doctrine. So how does it become Antinomian by action? To be Antinomian by action means to live life like as if there were no real moral constraints. Sad to say but Roman Catholicism is more ceremonial than moral by its actions.
As a former Roman Catholic, I have observed how often a lot of people who are very religious Roman Catholics end up with such foul conduct. It seems to be the formula is, "You can sin every day, do a confessional on Saturday and you can receive communion on Sunday." Likewise, Lent as much as it had ended yesterday, is also a license for sin. I have noticed how it's common to see a Catholic man who prays the Rosary, active in his local parish every way possible but he is cohabiting with a woman who is not his wife, worse if she turns out to be another man's wife, indulges in pornography and loves corrupt politicians as long as they were religious Roman Catholics. In the political arena, try to notice that a lot of people in the pork barrel scam in the Philippines Another one I know has the guts to call herself a godly woman while she is an adulteress just because she attends the Roman Catholic Mass so often and she is a religious Roman Catholic. People tell me, "Don't tell me your church is so pure huh?" but my response is, "Well we're not either. The difference is how we deal with sin!"
Ironically, a lot of Roman Catholics start to condemn fundamentalist Christians of legalism in one moment (because of criticizing their works of darkness) then accuse them of promoting legalism in the next (while they are under the rule of legalism). I remembered how I was treated quite differently because I graduated in a school that was called a "legalistic" and "Communist" school because it taught us to be decent, it did not embrace other religions, the pastor wasn't afraid to say Roman Catholics aren't Christians even if at least 75% of the enrolled students were Roman Catholics (Jesus didn't care about the majority or minority, He only cared about the truth) and that we didn't know how to "live". Yes, Christians do not know how to "live" according to worldly standards. I have noticed how more often than not, Roman Catholic schools especially those ran by Jesuit priests are super high class, very worldly and if you graduated from there, you tend to get easy approval by the world. And also, I noticed how most of the students in a Jesuit school usually show a very bad conduct that I cannot tolerate either.
On the other hand, Christians do still sin and problem is, they do still sin daily. 1 John 1:8 says that if we say we have no sin then there is no truth. The Christian will always struggle with sin, they can fall into sin. Even if they are not living like the rest of the world, they will still sin and sin is usually willful disobedience. I mean, some Christians may love the Lord, show fruits of the Holy Spirit, they reject worldliness as much as possible, they are concerned for the work of God but they still have their pet sins to take care of. When you think about it some Christians may fall into a state of half-heartedness like Lot, Samson or Solomon. Now for a Lordship theologian, such people are saved and yes, some Christians can fall into carnality but not carnal indefinite. When a Christian sins, they don't even parade it like a Christian might be struggling with old vices and bad values prior to salvation like having a hot temper, chronic lying, lust but a Christian does not live like the rest of the world. A Christian may have abandoned a sexually immoral lifestyle but it does not mean they cannot fall into sexual immorality either.
