Pope Francis' Support for Same-Sex Civil Union is a Good Reason to Continue the Reformation

Image
Should it be surprising that Pope Francis is now supporting same-sex civil unions? Pope Francis' statement, "If someone is gay and seeks the Lord with good will, who am I to judge?" is true because Christians are called to love homosexuals to tell them the truth and Jesus' free gift of forgiveness. However, Christians are not told to condone homosexual unions of any kind whether the ceremony was performed in a Baptist church, a Protestant church, a Roman Catholic parish, or even the civil courts. Homosexuality will always be wrong even if Christians are told to advocate for the basic rights of homosexuals to basic needs. However, Christians still have the right not to employ homosexuals like a factory has the right (or duty) not to employ anyone who doesn't meet certain qualifications or is too short or too sickly for the task. The very character of the Popes can make anyone wonder if they're indeed the successors of Peter. Reading through Peter, we can read t...

A Biblical Perspective of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines' Selective Outrage

Image
The Roman Catholic institution is really not so full of surprises if you know its history. Recently, the former president of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP), Archbishop Socrates Villegas, has decided to reveal his outrage over the denial of the ABS-CBN government franchise . Also, Villegas even dares to mention against the Anti-Terrorism Law . Valid concerns should be raised against the Anti-Terrorism Law that it might be misused and abused and any defects concerning it must be addressed. However, it's another thing to want to get rid of a law that would be used to enforce peace and order altogether without trying to fix it first. Villegas also reveals his uttermost hypocrisy by talking about peace and non-violence never mind the history of the Vatican. Is the Vatican that desperate to cover up its history when all the scandals are very well-documented already? What's the issue with Villegas and the CBCP? It's not that he has no right to f...

A Biblical Perspective Concerning the Anti-Terrorism Bill and the Communist Party's Desire for Legitimization

Political correctness makes you stupid, doesn't it? Recently, Filipino Communist groups have been going together with rejecting the anti-terrorism bill entirely. Then you've got fools who are now advocating to get rid of the anti-terrorism bill and suggesting that the Communist Party of the Philippines should be legitimated as a legal political party and have a voice. There's the need to voice out against such foolishness because what they want is detrimental to the welfare of the Philippines or any country. A biblical perspective on the anti-terrorism bill The Anti-Terrorism Bill would be good if it's only meant to execute wrath against them who do evil. Some people have expressed their concern on arrest based on suspicion which should be addressed since it's a misuse of one's authority. Some people went all the way from the desire to junk the said bill into correcting whatever flaws are in it prior to submission. Soldiers and policemen are ordained by ...

Franklin Graham Hypocritically Speaks Against LGBT While He Supports the Vatican

Image
It's really disheartening that I used to support the late Billy Graham back when I was saved. What I didn't realize that the Grahams themselves were involved in ecumenism. One of the reasons why I stopped watching the Trinity Broadcasting Network was their sinful compromise with Rome. Many times, both father and son Billy Graham and Franklin Graham have guilt-induced Christians either directly or indirectly to have an unequal yoke with Rome. There were times I thought Rome could be reformed but it couldn't. I have no reason to believe the Roman Catholic institution is Christian yet I was guilt-induced many times to think it was. However, Roman Catholics still trust God plus their works while born again Christians trust God's plan alone resulting in good works. It's no surprise that according to Lifesite News -  Franklin Graham got barred from the third UK Stadium . Before anybody claps their hands for joy and say, "Blessed are those persecuted for the sake ...

The Unchallenged, Unchanging, Unending, Lordship of Jesus Christ

How can the Lordship of Christ be unchallenged, unchanging, and unending? It's because of the doctrine of the Trinity. Some deist cults that believe Jesus is just a prophet claim that the Trinity was only added centuries later. The Iglesia ni Manalo cult and Jehovah's Witnesses are among those who state that heresy. One reason why I usually avoid using modern English translations is because of missing verses. Yet even without 1 John 5:7 in those Bibles - the Trinity is still affirmed in some way. How can Genesis 1:26 be about angels? Can angels create? Genesis 1:27 says that God created man in His image. Who could God be talking to? That would be the Father talking to the Son and the Holy Spirit. Genesis 1:2 confirms the eternal existence of the Holy Spirit. John 1:1-12 confirms that Jesus is the Word, the Word is with God, and the Word is God. The Trinity is that God exists as three Persons - one in essence yet three in Persons. Some say science disproves God. I beg to disag...

Reflections from the Canticle of Mary

It's really sad how born again Christians are termed as Mary haters. I don't hate Mary as the Papists falsely accuse me of. Rather, I hate the wrong doctrines of Mary. I was reading through Matthew and Luke (due to the Christmas season) and decided to meditate upon the Canticle of Mary. The annunciation is a very important event. It would be that time when the eternal Son of God would finally be incarnated in His human form. Luke 1:46-55  And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, 47 And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour . 48 For he hath regarded the low estate of His handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed. 49 For He that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is His name. 50 And His mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation. 51 He hath shewed strength with His arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. 52 He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them ...

Celebrating a Feast for John the Baptist While Rejecting Biblical Baptism

Today is the Roman Catholic feast day of John the Baptist. This has me disturbed at how Roman Catholics celebrate John the Baptist as one of their saints while some of them make fun of the idea of baptism by immersion. If they ever do bother to read the Greek text - the word baptize is derived from the Greek word baptizo   (βαπτίζω)  which means to immerse in water. That's something that infant baptism or baptism by sprinkling fails to accomplish. I wonder, did Roman Catholics ever bother reading these verses from the Good News Translation (GNT) which is one of their approved translations? Matthew 3:16-17  16 As soon as Jesus was baptized, He came up out of the water . Then heaven was opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God coming down like a dove and lighting on him. 17 Then a voice said from heaven, “This is my own dear Son, with whom I am pleased.”  Mark 1:8-9  9 Not long afterward Jesus came from Nazareth in the province of Galilee, and w...

Learning from Mary's Faithfulness to God's Cause at the Foot of the Cross

Although Jesus didn't make Mary the mother of humanity at the cross, although Christians shouldn't even try to get to Jesus through Mary but there's a lot of lessons to be learned by the humble woman in Mary. Do you remember when she got the visitation and she was frightened in Luke 1? She couldn't fathom the Creator of the Universe would be in her womb, she would be the earthly mother of Him who existed before her and she just told people in John 2:5 to do whatever Jesus told them. Mary herself showed her faithfulness by standing by the cross. She stood there out of full obedience to the plan of the Father. I remembered reading the late D. James Kennedy's book "Why I Believe" which I have the old edition. In page 127 where he talks about the virgin birth - he's an interesting passage that should make you realize how faithful Mary is as a believer and sister-in-Christ: The Virgin Birth is obviously something of a subjective nature - a very personal ...

The Stupidity and Superstition of "Blessed Palm Leaves"

Image
Palm Sunday is today and it would be best to address the stupidity of "blessed palms". I remembered I was a former Roman Catholic and I tore apart some "blessed palms" and got spanked for it, I was made to confess to the priest who blessed it and was told to do penance. I remembered how some people were scolded for accidentally burning the "blessed palms". Today is the commemoration of the arrival of Jesus into Jerusalem. It was also the very arrival of the Passover lamb which would be inspected for four days before it would be slaughtered as an unblemished sacrifice. Remember that Lent is to celebrate what was already done and not something that's repeatedly done. So what's the stupidity behind the "blessed" palms? We have to understand these are but palm leaves and some of them are formed as crosses. The priest who supposedly has the power to "save souls" now blesses them. Such power has left many ignorant Roman Catholics i...

The Roman Catholic Confessional's Hypocrisy

Image
Here's a funny cartoon of that shows the reality of the Vatican and it's something that's well-hidden from the average Roman Catholic today. The centuries worth of violent history of the Vatican isn't the only one hidden but also the priestly scandals. If Roman Catholics knew the truth then it would be detrimental, right? Then the same can also go because of the confessionals. I'm writing this one because today is Ash Wednesday and I remembered I once ate meat on that day and I was required to go to the confessional - back when I was still a Roman Catholic! How hypocritical is the confessional? Although it's not directly states that it's a license to sin but it's becoming a license to sin. I remembered the first time I went to confession as a Roman Catholic for my first communion. I remembered after saying the Act of Contrition - the priest asked me to pray X Our Fathers and Y Hail Marys. I soon prayed them and believed I was forgiven. Then it came i...

Don't Criticize the Roman Catholic Priests' Sexual Immortality While Covering Up For Sexually Immoral Baptist and Protestant Pastors

It can't be denied that there's really sex, shame and the Roman Catholic Church as a long topic. I could remember how there's that frequently spelled out lie that the scandals of the Vatican are but very minimal in contrast to the Protestant or Baptist circles. All the sins and scandals of the Roman Catholic institution have been swept under the rug. One of the reasons why I lost faith in the Roman Catholic system is the rampant immorality. Baptist churches have had a history where they have been usually serious about disciplining and exposing pastors who fall into sin. Yet, not all Baptist churches do so which is really a sad fact. I really remembered how I used to admire Jack Hyles and once thought that all the assaults against him were just made-up fabrications. It's normal for the children of God to get phony accusations when they are faithful. Yet, it turns out that there are Baptist (and other Evangelical or Protestant churches) who are guilty of covering up sex...

Buddhist Temples Participating in the Idolatry Called Sinulog Isn't All Too Surprising in These Last Days

Image
Sinulog deserves to have the word "sin" in it because it's sinful. The truth of Sinulog is that the Sto. Nino will always be an image of non-growing faith. Now, should it be surprising that in these last days to see Buddhist temples participating in Sinulog? It shouldn't be too surprising considering that the relations of the Vatican with Buddhism has been going strong for years. Check out for pictures of the late John Paul II meeting the Pope of Tibetan Buddhism who is called the Dalai Lama. You can also see resigned Benedict XVI meeting the Dalai Lama. Pope Francis has even met various Buddhist teachers. How could these men even claim to be the successors of blessed St. Peter? A Buddhist nun from Taiwan named Yung Ling has also stressed that she would bow down and adore the image of the Sto. Nino every time she visited the Basilica in Cebu City. It's even emphasized by her that bowing down to the images of other religions is a symbol of gratitude for thei...

The Irony Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI Condemns Himself With His Quote About Mary the Mother of Jesus

Image
There's such a thing that your own words will condemn you. It reminds me of how a fake Catholic defender ended up refuting his own arguments when he said, "Read the Bible and you can't go wrong because salvation is found in Jesus Christ!" while believing that church membership is required for salvation and that Sola Scriptura is unscriptural. The same can be said with Benedict XVI with his quote about the blessed Mary, the earthly mother of Jesus. To dismiss Benedict XVI's statement because he's a Roman Catholic is to commit the Ad Hominem fallacy. There is really truth in said statement in his book "An Invitation to Faith" when he said that Mary's greatness consists in one fact - she wants to magnify God and not herself! Mary said in Luke 1:47 that her soul rejoices in God her Savior. She was willing to do everything to do God's will and what is the Roman Catholic institution teaching about her? It's so sad how the Roman Catholic insti...
