The Irony Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI Condemns Himself With His Quote About Mary the Mother of Jesus

There's such a thing that your own words will condemn you. It reminds me of how a fake Catholic defender ended up refuting his own arguments when he said, "Read the Bible and you can't go wrong because salvation is found in Jesus Christ!" while believing that church membership is required for salvation and that Sola Scriptura is unscriptural. The same can be said with Benedict XVI with his quote about the blessed Mary, the earthly mother of Jesus.

To dismiss Benedict XVI's statement because he's a Roman Catholic is to commit the Ad Hominem fallacy. There is really truth in said statement in his book "An Invitation to Faith" when he said that Mary's greatness consists in one fact - she wants to magnify God and not herself! Mary said in Luke 1:47 that her soul rejoices in God her Savior. She was willing to do everything to do God's will and what is the Roman Catholic institution teaching about her?

It's so sad how the Roman Catholic institution has taught another Mary which is in contrast to Mary of the Scriptures. The Mary of the Scriptures, that beloved sister in Christ, that beloved woman whose hand I will shake someday, that beloved example to mothers everywhere had not exalted herself at any point. She is no proud Madonna who declares herself as the mediatrix of grace. Instead, John 2:5 has Mary clearly glorifying not herself when she said, "Do whatever He tells you to do."

How did Mary glorify God in her actions and did not magnify herself at all? All she told people is to do whatever Jesus tells us to do. Mary never invited people to herself. She wanted people to understand she couldn't mediate between them and Jesus at the wedding feast in Cana. Yet why do Roman Catholics insist that Mary intercedes? It's because they don't understand Scriptures. Mary clearly admitted she needed a Savior yet same verse is used to justify her being born without sin. Yet, many Roman Catholic parishes have given so much exaltation to Mary. The Rosary has more Hail Marys than any other prayer in said Rosary. Roman Catholics are misled to believe that everyone must pass through Mary before they can go to Jesus. They even ignorantly exalt her above Jesus without even knowing it!

Besides, all the visions of "Mary" in the apparitions could not be that great humble woman I respect as the ideal mother and wife that Christians should seek. How can the biblical Mary call herself as the immaculate conception or even order a shrine in her honor? None! Yet, blinded Roman Catholics believe said apparitions without truly cross-examining the Scriptures! All these apparitions are either Satan or any of his devils in disguise of the humble Mary who would never exalt herself above God!
