The Stupidity of Decriminalizing Perjury and People Complaining Why Innocent People Are Getting Punished
People today say that the death penalty will indeed end up executing innocent people. Death penalty may end up killing the wrong people but there's a cause to it. Here's a useful Bible passage that should help clear up the matter:
The Bible calls for perjury to be a criminal offense not a civil offense. It's really foolish to how people say that punishing and criminalizing perjury is harsh then they're complaining that innocent people may be executed anytime soon. If you want to greatly reduce the chances of innocent people in the death row then perjury must be punished with what the false accuser intended to do with the falsely accused. That's why there's the right to get proper due process for both parties. It doesn't only make sure people get punished according to the gravity of their offenses but also it makes sure false witnesses are to be given the punishment they intended the other to get. If one falsely accuses the other of robbery then the false accuser will get jailed as if he's the robber. If one false accuses the other of murder then the false accuser will get the death penalty. That's the better way to make sure that the chances of innocent people landing in jail or getting executed will be greatly reduced. While people who do simple violations like littering may get away with a slap in the wrist but serious offenses that could have harmed innocent people are a different category.
Letting people get away with a slap in the wrist for perjury that could have caused an innocent life is idiotic. It's because of that kind of negligence that causes innocent people to get the death penalty and the guilty party to get away. Such idiocy will continue to encourage perjury and have more people executed for crimes they didn't commit. The death penalty itself is God-ordained meaning it's not evil. But if it doesn't follow God's methods of proper investigation and giving the intended punishment to the false witnesses then it's a misuse of God's ordinance. Many Christians were victims of perjury-related crimes. Many persecutors set up false witnesses to make sure Christians get executed for crimes they didn't commit. Since Jesus got executed for crimes He didn't commit to pay for man's sins then His followers can expect to be executed for crimes they didn't commit.
God set the death penalty to keep society safe and sound. Sin was to be called sin and any penalty that violates the right to life, life must be given in exchange for that life. Even if it doesn't bring back the murdered person to life but it will prevent that person from murdering others. Yet we have a lot of human right activities (a lot of them are also Roman Catholics, no surprise there) who continue to insist that death penalty is murder. That's what you get from people who don't read the Bible.
