Are All Children of God? Not So Saith the Scriptures!

There's the heresy that's going that everybody is a child of God.  What saith Scripture?  The Scripture says otherwise.  NOT everyone is a child of God.  Jesus quickly and sharply debunked the idea that we are all children of God regardless of religion, no that is very dead wrong.  You can call me a religious terrorist all you want but I will point out the truth from Scripture that God does not consider all to be His children in contrast to the lie I used to read on the school walls of a secular school saying, "WE ARE ALL BROTHERS AND SISTERS AND GOD IS OUR FATHER."  That statement would be true IF everybody in the room were Christians in sharp contrast to what the Bible says:

  • John 8:42-44 says, "Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but He sent me. Why do ye not understand my speech? Even because ye cannot hear My word. Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not. Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me? He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God."

Obviously, Jesus was calling for the need of spiritual rebirth to such people if they expect to be children of God.  In John 14:6, He verifies the very truth when He said, "I Am the Way, the Truth and the Life.  No man cometh unto the Father BUT by Me."  Even that verse is still translated accurately in the Roman Catholic translations who sadly now teach that everybody is a child of God.  Only if they do read their Bible, they would find out something is wrong with that doctrine.  Such heretical doctrine is also readily accepted by Buddhism who says if any religion adheres to the basics of morality then it is automatically the right religion.  Isn't it any wonder why the Pope of the Buddhists (the Dalai Llama) has embraced the Roman Catholic Pope?

It can be seen plain and simple that the natural person is a fallen sinner who needs to be saved is a child of the Devil.  On the other hand who does Scripture say is really a child of God?  Take a look at the verses of Scripture below:

  • John 1:10-11- "But as many as received Him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." (the new man CANNOT sin but believers still sin because of the old man)
  • Romans 8:14-17- "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with Him, that we may be also glorified together."
  • 1 John 3:1- "Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not."

How can one be a child of God?  Simple- believe on the Lord Jesus Christ on who He is and what He did on the cross for you and you'll be adopted. Any changes like good works are but a natural result of being saved.  You do not work hard and labor hoping to become God's child, no God makes you His child only by believing and your new life shows you are a child of God, not the other way around.
