Dinosaurs in Job?
The Bible presents two mysterious creatures in Job. Now it's time to examine the two creatures one by one.
In Job 40:15-24 has the description of the Behemoth's physical attributes as:
- Eats grass as an ox which makes it obviously an herbivore
- Strength is in his loins and his force is in the navel of his belly
- Moves tail like a cedar, the sinews of his stones are wrapped together
- Bones are as strong pieces of brass, bones like bars of iron
- Lies under shady trees in the covert of the reed and fens
- The shady trees cover him with their shadow, the willows of their brook compass him about
- He drinks up a river and hastes not
This could not be merely a hippopotamus or an elephant. Elephants are not big enough to drink up a river, the tail is not even big as a cedar. Moving to scientific facts, cedars are also capable of growing up to 40 meters. So what kind of animal has a tail that long? Some of the dinosaurs that were classified later by secular science as apatosaurus, brachiosaurus and ultrasaurus are all having tails as LONG as a cedar.
Leviathan is described in Chapter 41 as:
- Having a double bridle
- Having terrible teeth
- Scales are shut up and closed seal
- Sneezes cause the eyes to shine
- Flames come out of his mouth
- Smoke coming from out of his nostrils
- Strong necked
- Steel weapons are but rotten wood to him
- Sharp stones are under him, spreads sharp pointed things across the mire
- Makes the sea like a pot of ointment
This can't be a whale because whales have no scales. A crocodile is not that strong or huge either. So far some scientists who are Christians have suggested a T-Rex but a T-Rex so far isn't a sea creature. Some passages do suggest leviathan is a sea creature (Psalm 104:24-26, Isaiah 27:1) which today could actually be an old sea dinosaur probably what scientists call the "Mosasaur" or a Plesiosaur or any now-extinct sea monster that would have existed during the time of Job and may have been plentiful before the great flood hit the Earth. Also, there could be a special compartment in the skull of any giant dinosaur enough to store chemicals that could ignite fire like the bombardier beetle but in much bigger quantities. With that in mind - it's not impossible to breathe fire, right?
Conclusion:
Once again, the Bible is far more scientific than the foolish theories set by God-haters who just imagine things out of their heads to explain the "sudden" death of dinosaurs.
