Beware of People Who Claim to be Prophets!

It's really annoying to have people who claim to be prophets and that God has anointed them unto this generation but they are but quacks.  How do you identify these false prophets?  Deuteronomy 18:22 says "When a prophet speaketh in the Name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him."  God is clear that He hates false prophets and that He will not honor them as His prophets.  From the recent incident in Pangasinan being "clouded" by conspiracy theories and false prophecies, I wish this article will get people to wake up to reality!

False prophets claim their inspiration from the Bible yet what they do is otherwise.  In fact, one must remember Harold Camping's three times failed predictions- May 21, October 21 or the December 21, 2012 Rapture theory.  What is worse is that some of them will arrogantly claim, "God had sent me this message to you people.  Beware!  Heed to me or perish!" and they overly use the statement, "It's God's will." to get away with what they do.  Wow, how arrogant can that person get?  He should be thankful God had not decided to direct judgment on him like God did to Hananiah in the Book of Jeremiah after he challenged the true prophet of God.  One must also note that many of these so-called prophets are actually into the occult like the prophets of Baal in the Old Testament.

It should also be sad why people would rather trust the "prophecies" of Nostradamus and other quacks rather than read the Bible?  Even after the December 21, 2012 incident which did not happen because God said in Matthew 24:36 that no man knows the hour and the time but the Father only.  Acts 1:8 says that it is not for us to know the times and dates of prophecies.  That's why I have my problems with Roman Catholic mystics, the Watchtower's quack predictions (they are very infamous for it) and "visions" of today and so on which proves people choose to be willfully ignorant.  People should learn to filter it with the Bible, God's Word rather than buy what "visions" say.  Sadly they refuse to study their Bible and would choose to let their "council" interpret it for them.

One must also remember the difference between a prediction and a prophecy.  A prediction is not always set to come true (ex. statistics, hypothetical speculations) like I was able to predict that this scandal would happen because the person's behavior was most likely to cause a scandal or I can predict a flood would happen during the typhoon because of all the conditions that were required would be met.  On the other hand a prophecy is destined to happen as God has said it and willed it.  When God sent the prophets to speak to Israel, every last thing they said came true.  While reading the prophetic books, every last prophet got their message from God and all what they said came true because God said it.  When Elijah said there will be no rain, it was not his words but God's word.  He didn't stop the rain, God did.  Sadly people love the false prophets rather than the true prophets of God (Jeremiah 5:21).
