Sadly Some Baptist Preachers Were Messed Up Baptist Briders

There's no doubt that there are some of the best Baptist preachers like Estus Pirkle, Bob Gray, Curtis Hutson, Lester Roloff, etc. were pretty good preachers against sin, they won many to Christ but what is heartbreaking was when I found out that some of the best Baptist preachers were also Baptist Bride followers. Baptist Bride theology is dangerous.

Now it was pretty disturbing to how long I actually did admire some of these preachers. Sadly, the issue is that while I've read some great articles but these people were also responsible for division and havoc because of their Baptist Bride heresy. In fact, some of their best sermons have actually blotted out great men of God like Billy Sunday, Vernon McGee and Harry Allen Ironside out of the list because they were Protestant Christians and not Baptist Christians. I know historically Baptists aren't Protestants, there are also unsaved Protestants but they tend to ignore that there are also unsaved Baptists. In fact, I have every right to doubt that Martin Luther King Jr. was even a real Christian considering his doctrine was so well-loved, he had an open tolerance to Roman Catholicism evidenced by his open association with the Jesuits. You can actually remember some Baptists who later became Catholics, they weren't saved to start with. Some are baptized in Southern Baptist churches but weren't saved. I mean, you can think of why Paul David Washer a Southern Baptist preacher had CONDEMNED such practices. In fact, he is right in saying sometimes it takes days or weeks before a person can get saved because their hard is hardened against God. Fortunately, God gives enough time for people to get saved. In fact, many people who finally get saved were probably witnessed to for maybe even decades before they got saved. That reminded me of my grandaunt who died on Reformation Day, she was evangelized for decades by her Christian relatives before she got saved at the age of 80.

The Baptist Bride theology is damaging at best. In fact, there are some biased histories. In fact, some of these preachers against sin were however also sadly, dividing any effort for the true Christians to work together. David W. Cloud and James Melton though both were not Calvinistic nor Reformed, however they were still opposed to the Baptist bride heresy. Baptist Bride theology has actually started to undermine the Reformation. To its dangerous proponents, they could be in the danger of becoming as dangerous as the Phelps' cult. David W. Cloud though he is non-Calvinist unlike me (and he has some disagreements with it and some Calvinist preachers but let's not get divided over that), I really did appreciate his emphasis on the lordship of Christ. For one, some Baptist Briders have severely misunderstood or misrepresented. David W. Cloud wrote this statement, "The root issue is the false religion of Hyles that has permeated, to one degree or another, a tremendous number of IB churches. His religion included: a gospel that removed the Lordship of Jesus Christ, un-Scriptural understanding of genuine repentance and faith, the elevation of men, a false view of success, a use of cheap gimmickry in building churches, un-Biblical preaching, emotionalism, false sanctification, false doctrine of the Holy Spirit, so called conversions without any change . . ." However I am still trying to get the Hyles matter investigated.

Also, I'd like to mention that from what David W. Cloud mentions, we really have the following to mention that should be worth mentioning aside form the Baptist Bride theology:

1) The term "Lordship salvation" was according to Pastor John F. Macarthur an invented term by non-proponents. Okay I don't think everyone who claims to be its opponent is an Antinomian but it was resulted by the misuse of the word. The term lordship salvation was used by some Arminians to justfy the heresy of conditional security while Pastor Macarthur is obviously a proponent of eternal security. If you want to know what Lordship salvation is, please read here.

2.) Jack Hyles' sermons sadly have done some probable vilification not a scholarly study of Martin Luther and John Calvin. From a Baptist preacher, I did hear that Luther didn't even write a catechism but somebody later wrote it forging his name.

3.) Many Baptist Briders have loose evangelism. In fact, I laughed my head off when I heard of Steven Anderson saying that Ray Comfort's method of using the Ten Commandments to reveal sin is flawed. For one, I really appreciate Ray Comfort's evangelism method better than most 1-2-3- presto evangelism. I mean how can people know they are sinners if they don't even get exposed to the Law (Galatians 3:24)?

4.) Out of context preaching is also very common. Okay while I do appreciate Steven Anderson's sermons on sin and whatever, but that sermon "Pisseth Against the Wall" is absolutely and very out of context!

5.) Many IFBs today are really not good examples sad to say and are shaming the Baptist legacy. While I definitely want to blast out people who claim to be Baptist but live so sinfully, it's also best to point out some IFBs today are really bad examples. Their unscholarly methods have also involved debates. Try listening to a debate between an IFB vs. ADD or IFB vs. CFD or IFB vs. INC, actually neither side makes sense that's why I don't listen to them. Sometimes even the pastor may show a belligent attitude as well.

6.) Spending time in conspiracy theories than preaching. That's why I have stopped listening to any conspiracy theory programs. While it's certainly good to study about Jesuit history but that is NOT the top priority. Vatican agents don't need to be exposed, they expose themselves. In fact, they too are still part of the mission field that need to be won to Christ.
