Sinners Love to Sin Because They Are Unsaved Sinners
Why do people love to sin? It is because they are sinners. 1 Corinthians 2:14 says, "But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned." What we can be certain is that the unsaved man hates the things of God. When I asked my pastor why do many people hate hymns, it is because the world is in war against God because it has fallen into Satan's hands. There is always the issue that men are indeed hostile towards God and they find truth about God as foolish. They have either a different perception of God or they want to reject God. Either way it is the result of the sin. For the world, Christian values are anything but acceptable because they only appeal to morals to get what they want not because they want to please God.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 gives this stern warning, "Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God." If you notice the opening of the two verses, it addresses the issue of the unrighteous. Why do people do all those sins listed there? It is because they are unrighteous and unsaved. Being unsaved is a real huge fertile ground for sin to flourish that it does not take Satan to prod the sinner, the sinner is already drive to sin by their own selves. Note that Romans 3:10-19 addresses nobody is ever righteous in God's sight. The fall of man is in the fact that they are all sinners making them love their sin.
The more I look at the fact that men love sin because they are sinners, many of them do not even think that they are sinners. Some of them think because they have their manmade religion that they are fine. Some of them think sin is just a fantasy word made to frighten humanity. The problem of loving sin is that such people cannot believe on the Lord Jesus Christ because they are in rebellion against Him. Nobody can ever say that they love Jesus and love sin. Worse, many say that they are righteous people even when their lifestyles is a red signal towards Christians that they need to be evangelized. Some of them think that their "good works" will just outweigh their bad works. Such people are still infested with weeds, hardness and shallowness and they need to be softened up and made ready with the Law. People will refuse to believe the Gospel as long as they are still hardened in sin and pride.
Galatians 3:24 and Romans 3:19 declares that it is the Law of God that shows we are sinners. James 2:10-11 shows that even if you offend at one point - you are still guilty of breaking the whole Law's standard. The perfect standard of God cannot be kept by the sinful man. For the sinner to know they are sinners, the Ten Commandments shows God's perfect standard. The great evangelists and Reformers used the Law to convince people of their sinfulness. One must be told why they are sinners and how God's perfect Law is violated even by the slightest blot in the human soul. This is the correct evangelism that drives away people who want to be saved from their sins and get people who wish to be saved from their sins.
