Legalization of Booze and Narcotics is Dangerous to Society

There's the huge lie that says prohibition of liquor and narcotics will only make the problem worse and that legalizing them is what stops them. Their argument is built on a faulty standpoint where they say that if you prohibit these substances then the prices will go up which will encourage more drug dealers to enter into them. These "experts" also claim that if you legalize liquor and narcotics then prices will drop because supply will be up. They say that the moment you do so nobody wants to enter into drugs because the prices will be so low it discourages profit. Legalization of narcotics and hard liquor will encourage them because nobody would want to sell them if there were laws that could lock people up involved in their trade. If the prices are lower because of a high supply of drugs and hard liquor then the more these people involved in the industry profit from them because more people will buy them at a rapid rate. If the prices of drugs and hard liquor were so

Holiness Doesn't Stop After Holy Week, It's a Daily Walk in the Christian Life

Holy week is over. Is it time to return to being worldly? God forbid! It's time to share these verses about holiness in the Christian life: Romans 6:18-20  Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness. For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. 2 Corinthians 7:1-3  Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. Receive us; we have wronged no man, we have corrupted no man, we have defrauded no man. I speak not this to condemn you: for I have said before, that ye are in our hearts to die and live with you. Ephesians 4:23-25  And be renewed in the Spirit of your mind; and that y

Jesus' Resurrection is Proof That You Can't Be Saved and Still Remain the Same

Image
It's Easter Sunday and yes, I'm blasting on the paganism associated with it to bring the message that's already been declared for a long time, "Christ the Lord is risen." He's risen way back and that's proof He has conquered death and sin. He paid for the sins of mankind and He's finished His mission. His death paid the price and finished the atonement for sins. His resurrection brings proof of his victory. 1 Corinthians 2:8  Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. The resurrection is just as important as the virgin birth, the crucifixion and the burial because they're all part of the prophecies about Christ. His resurrection means that death is conquered to prove who He is. It's not enough that He paid for the penalty of sin by dying but He has to resurrect as part of the great redemption plan. 1 Corinthians 15:54-55  So when this corruptible shall have p

Jesus Died Among Transgressors but He Was Buried with the Rich

Today is Black Saturday and here's what the Bible says about the Lord Jesus' death and burial: Isaiah 53:9  And He made His grave with the wicked, and with the rich in His death; because He had done no violence, neither was any deceit in His mouth. The Lord Jesus' death was planned by God the Father for the redemption of man. The burial of Jesus on a Friday is an important testimony of this that Jesus really died physically for the sins of man on the cross. This is the testimony that He indeed died for the sins of sinful mankind. Here's the following facts that those who want to dismiss His death and resurrection have been conveniently ignoring these details that don't require a medical expert to disprove: The wound on the side of Christ bled both blood and water. This was already evidence that He had died. The Romans would always check the crucified victims before lowering them down. If they lived the legs were broken so they would be granted a swift de

Did Jesus Declare Mary the Mother of Humanity in John 19:26-27?

Roman Catholics try to justify devotion to Mary by quoting John 19:26-27 and I'll be quoting from Roman Catholic translations instead of the Authorized Version of 1611 which I uphold as the only Bible translation that Christians can use: When Jesus saw His mother and the disciple there whom He loved, He said to his mother, "Woman, behold, your son." Then He said to the disciple, "Behold, your mother." And from that hour the disciple took her into his home. (New American Bible) Jesus saw his mother and the disciple he loved standing there; so he said to his mother, "He is your son." Then he said to the disciple, "She is your mother." From that time the disciple took her to live in his home. (Good News Translation) That is their defense to why indeed we should have devotion to Mary. It's very easy for them to say that they don't worship Mary but they only pray for her or they don't pray to her at all. It's true Jesus hono

Good Friday Reminder: Jesus' Death Is to Liberate You from Your Sin Not to Liberate You to Sin

It's Good Friday isn't it? The Lenten season is one of the most hypocritical times of the year and Good Friday may be the most hypocritical part of Lent. Many pretend to go into sorrow during Good Friday to "commemorate" Jesus' death but when Easter Sunday comes, it would be just one day ahead before many people go back to living like the rest of the world.  Hebrews 2:14  Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; Hebrews 9:14  How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? One of the worst teachings that people can have is to belittle the death of Jesus on the cross. If the works salvation crowd diminish it by adding works to it (Galatians 2:21) then the Antinomians make a

Bitter Herbs Are Good For Your Health

Image
Considering that it's Passover Week, it would be interesting if we actually talked about bitter herbs. Here's when God started ordaining bitter herbs into man's diet: Exodus 12:8  And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it. Numbers 9:11  The fourteenth day of the second month at even they shall keep it, and eat it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs. The bitter herbs were a reminder of the affliction that the Israelites had for 400 years in Egypt. They were to be eaten with the roasted lamb. Some bitter herbs are used for seasoning. Bitter as it sounds but they do help make nutritious and delicious food. Middle Eastern food may have the bitter bite but they are healthy cuisines. I really am amazed with how God's setting of diet in Leviticus would be better than the diet of the non-Jews. Christians may eat pork and crustaceans (Acts 10:13-14) but the Jewish diet is healthier. P

What Lesson Can Christians Learn from Peter's Denial and Restoration to the Faith?

With Holy Week in mind, it's probably time to move from the daily pattern of reading the Bible from Genesis to Revelation in their proper order to moving forward (or backward) to the four Gospel accounts that talk about Jesus' arrest and crucifixion. You can read Peter's denial in Matthew 26:33-35, Mark 14:29-31, Luke 22:33-34 and the John 13:36-38. It's very easy to say, "Lord I will never fail you." But Jesus' reply was that before the crow will crow twice, Peter will deny Him thrice. Mark gives the account of the first crowing and the second crowing while the other three accounts talk of only the final crowing. The crowing of the rooster happens twice was during 12:00 A.M. to 3:00 A.M. and the morning watch was around 3:00 A.M. to 6:00 A.M. There is no contradiction to that. It's easy to be arrogant in the flesh and to think highly of one's self. Peter thought that he was self-sufficient. I even wonder did Peter even think that he was capable

Yes, Christians Can Eat Meat During Holy Week

Image
It's Holy Week and it's already a runaround heresy that Roman Catholics should avoid eating meat during Ash Wednesday and all Fridays of Lent. Some even think that Roman Catholics should avoid meat for all 40 days of Lent though the actual teaching says it's only for Ash Wednesday and Fridays of Lent.  In due fairness some Roman Catholics actually actually give a little more valid reason to avoid eating meat during Ash Wednesday and all Fridays of Lent as written by a Catholic priest named Mike Schmit saind in his article " Why Don't Catholics Eat Meat During Lent ": More to the point, meat was singled out because it is associated with celebrations and feast s. I understand that there has been a slight cultural shift in the last number of years with more and more people eating a more vegetarian diet, but most of us still base the food we eat during celebrations around a meat entrĂ©e (Thanksgiving turkey, Easter ham, Fourth of July brat, burger and a st

The Danger of Palm Sunday "Converts"

Today is the celebration of Palm Sunday and the start of the first day of Holy Week. It's would be good to address the problem of Palm Sunday "converts". The ministry of Jesus has this problem that many loved His miracles but hated His teachings. Palm Sunday would testify to how so many conversions today are superficial. They seem to be converted but results soon reveal that they aren't converts to start with. They're quick to wither like the palm leaves which some Roman Catholics would bring to their Pharisees to have them superstitiously "blessed" with "holy water" but would eventually wither a few days later.  John 6:26   Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek Me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled . People thought Jesus was giving them free lunch, They followed Him hoping to get something. But the result was soon very sad. In fact, we have the sad trag
