Mythological Animals in the King James Bible?

One of the many criticisms of the King James Bible (KJB) aside from the "hard to understand English" is the supposed use of mythological animals as if they are real. What we must understand in context of the King James is that it's translated in 1611 - an era of thous and thees or old English was used. So what are these creatures? Let's try and think about the alleged use of fictional creatures as if they were really real. Unicorns are not necessarily fanciful horses with one horn Unicorns in the Bible? The KJB must then be an erroneous translation! However, there was one interesting creature that even evolutionists (atheist or not) must admit is the existence of unicorns! No, I'm not talking about the magical horse with one horn. Maybe you've heard of the Siberian "unicorn" which may also be called the Siberian rhinoceros. You may have also heard of a certain species of rhinoceros which only have one horn! How does the Bible describe the unico

The Christian Life Compared to Olive Oil Production

Image
Photo courtesy of Medical News Today As I was reading my Bible today in the Book of Leviticus - a thought struck into my head as I found in Leviticus 24:2 which was also the same command found in Exodus 27:20. This is the command for the children to bring pure olive oil, which was beaten continually which would cause the lamps to light for eight days straight before replacing them. I. How olive oil is made Above is a diagram that would talk about how olives are gathered. You can take a look at how you have the difficult harvesting process. Trimming was done properly for the branches to make sure that there was more room for an abundant harvest. The harvest soon arrives and you have the process of crushing it.  Since there was no modern equipment yet then one can imagine the use of an ox or some people push the crushing wheel themselves until all the olives become a fine pulp. Then you have the process of pressing the crushed olives (and there are several layers of f

A Deadly Contagious Plague of Easy Believist Baptist Churches

Image
It never stops to bother me up to no end that sometimes the biggest problem in the Baptist churches are Baptists themselves. As preposterous as it sounds but it's true. There's the recent plague of easy believism. I thought of how often salvation ends up like this, "Just pray a prayer and you're saved." It's no wonder why the late Dr. Leonard Ravenhill announced that the sinner's prayer has sent more people into Hell than the bars of America. It's because many people have become false converts. Now, I don't deny some people have said the sinner's prayer or were converted from a sinner's prayer evangelism. However, it's not because of the sinner's prayer evangelism but it's because the pastor preaches hard truths and would confront false converts about the possibility of false conversion. I was just reminded of some person I ran into years ago. He claimed he was a Baptist and seems to act like he's some kind of "Jesu

Buddhist Temples Participating in the Idolatry Called Sinulog Isn't All Too Surprising in These Last Days

Image
Sinulog deserves to have the word "sin" in it because it's sinful. The truth of Sinulog is that the Sto. Nino will always be an image of non-growing faith. Now, should it be surprising that in these last days to see Buddhist temples participating in Sinulog? It shouldn't be too surprising considering that the relations of the Vatican with Buddhism has been going strong for years. Check out for pictures of the late John Paul II meeting the Pope of Tibetan Buddhism who is called the Dalai Lama. You can also see resigned Benedict XVI meeting the Dalai Lama. Pope Francis has even met various Buddhist teachers. How could these men even claim to be the successors of blessed St. Peter? A Buddhist nun from Taiwan named Yung Ling has also stressed that she would bow down and adore the image of the Sto. Nino every time she visited the Basilica in Cebu City. It's even emphasized by her that bowing down to the images of other religions is a symbol of gratitude for thei

Satan's Deadly Mathematics

There's a huge difference between Christianity or pure religion against manmade religion or false religion. Religion means to tie back the ties to God. The problem of most manmade religion is that no matter how hard it tries to establish its ties back to God that it's pretty much cut short. We need to take this warning from James 1:26-27:  If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain. 27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. Many people today are religious but lost. It's time to check out how the Devil actually causes people to be lost and how he establishes false religion. This chart shows what's really wrong with the Devil's religion. Let's take time to analyze how Satan perverts everything. If we try to analyze the Devil's M

The Birth and Death of the Lord Jesus Christ Are Year-Round Truths

Image
If there are two very hypocritical times of the year - it's Christmas and the Lenten season. Some people have even insisted that it's foolish not to celebrate Christmas because without the Incarnation then the Crucifixion couldn't happen. It's true that if Jesus wasn't born in His human form then He couldn't fulfill the very mission to die for the sins of man. Jesus had to fulfill Isaiah 7:14 in order to fulfill Isaiah 51 to 53, right? Now, it's already the New Year and it won't be long that the Lenten season will arrive in just a matter of months. So how can the birth and death of Christ be declared and celebrated all year round? It's not about celebrating Christmas everyday (though I have nothing against Christians who celebrate Christmas without the pagan nonsense of Saturnalia) or having a daily Lenten season. Rather, it's because the very Gospel about Jesus Christ is surrounded with every truth about Him as the eternal Son of God who had

Parents Should Stop Boasting of Their "Good Old Days" and Focus on Timeless Christian Values

It's the start of a new year and the world isn't getting any better. The good news for Christians is that this world is no their home. Now, here's the biggest problem of people today is that they want to go back to the "good old days". I remembered how often it's often done by old school parents who love to brag about it to their children something like, "When I was your age... (insert achievement)." more often than not. Though the parents may not be necessarily belittling their children (or at least it's not in their intent) - they may even have it as an intent to inspire or make sure their children walk the right way but do they even realize that times have changed faster than they can count it? Don't they realize children do have a preconceived mindset that they are being belittled? I often find myself still wanting and wishing for the good old days - never mind said good old days happened when I wasn't saved yet. I would think of th
