The Incredible Irony That Many People Want a Perfect Leader But Reject the Lord Jesus Christ!

People tend to wish for a perfect parent, a perfect child or right now people tend to wish for a perfect leader. It's only normal for people in a screwed up world to wish for a perfect leader to help solve all their problems. The irony is that many people who want the perfect leader reject the perfect leader namely the Lord Jesus Christ.

The situation is no different from the unbelieving Jews who expected the Messiah. Remember the Jews who were eager for the Messiah to arrive? They wanted the Messiah to supposedly liberate them from the Roman Rule and establish the Kingdom. For years, they wanted the Romans to be gotten rid of and the Kingdom of David established. The time came when Jesus was proclaimed by John the Baptist as the Lamb of God. People thought He would liberate them from Roman Rule. Instead, Jesus didn't feed on their hate but told them a lot of stuff that would crush their pride such as forgiving and loving one's enemies. Worse, He showed the people that they weren't good enough for Heaven. It's a complete attack on the pride of life! They sang praises on Palm Sunday but no sooner shouted "Crucify Him!" a few days later on what may be either Thursday or Friday. They wanted the perfect leader but they rejected Him and many of them still do.

The problem is that sinful men want the perfect leader but their definition of perfection is not even close to God's standards. It's safe to assume that their definition of a "perfect leader" is someone who would magically fix all their problems. In John 6:26 one can read that Jesus rebuked them that they wanted free lunch. The crowd went there not because of the miracles but because of the loaves. Jesus didn't come to the world as a man to magically fix people's worldly problems but to give them the Gospel of salvation. Jesus is indeed the perfect man because He's God in the form of man. But the worldly idea of perfect is nowhere near the Scriptural definition of perfect. Jesus lived the perfect life and the sinful world rejected Him and it will also reject His followers.

The idea of a "perfect leader" who would magically fix the world's problems may also be another reason why the Antichrist will be well-accepted when he finally arrives. People today want someone who will help fix all their problems. It's a common fact that politicians who make empty promises deceive the gullible. Likewise, the Antichrist and the False Prophet would deceive the gullible into following them. Their standards of perfection may be someone that the majority will love, someone that will please their desire for their own definition of peace and somebody who will make them feel good. Daniel 8:25 says that by "peace" the Antichrist will destroy many. This promise of peace is nothing more than deception. Man's twisted definition of peace and perfection will ultimately lead to the end of the world.

It's a good thing that there's a few who have might the right decision of getting one perfect leader in the Lord Jesus Christ. Stop looking for the perfect leader. Look to no other but Jesus who lived the perfect life as man so He could pay for the penalty of sins. He's the only one who can save you from your sins.
