Why We Believe in The Virgin Birth of Jesus Christ

Okay this is NOT anything to write praises to Mary or to pray to her but we would like to write on why we believe in the virgin birth as being essential to the Christian faith. Isaiah 7:14 writes, "Behold a virgin shall have a Son and shall call His name Immanuel meaning God with us." and it has become a foundation of belief. In the analysis, why do I believe in the virgin birth? It's because it has been prophesied in the Old Testament and it HAS to be fulfilled in the New Testament. So if there was no virgin birth then here's where the difference lies:
  1. If Jesus were not born of a virgin, Isaiah 7:14 would be a lie and the New Testament therefore would be a lie too. (Interesting note: Most Bibles including many Catholic versions of the Bible have replaced "virgin" with "woman" which should be strange for the Catholic Church because they teach Mary was eternally a virgin when she is NOT.)
  2. Mary the earthly mother of Jesus would be guilty of the sin of unchaste conduct. She was engaged to Joseph. Therefore a role model of what every Christian woman should be would not be a role model after all.
  3. Therefore, Jesus cannot claim that His Father was God.
  4. Genesis 3:15 would go unfulfilled with the seed of a woman.
  5. Then that would make Jesus just another human being. This would mean that He would just be another man like the rest of us, therefore He cannot be the God-man who will redeem us and leaving ALL people in their sins and without hope to be saved. (Interesting note: It should be noted that MANY Bible versions especially the NIV have already subtly perverted the virgin birth with Mary saying "I have no husband." instead of "I know not a man." which would also allow fornication between Mary and Joseph the stepfather of Jesus.)
  6. By getting rid of the virgin birth, there is also no Trinity because Jesus is God the Son. (Interesting note: Most Bibles remove 1 John 5:7 the Trinity verse, especially in Catholic Bibles)
  7. It would also effectively deny the truth of Jesus- that He is the seed of the woman and the seed of David in His human nature. (Note: Mary was the descendant of David via Nathan just as Joseph was the descendant of David via Solomon, both of their ancestors were sons of David and Bathsheba therefore it effectively makes Jesus both the seed of the woman via virgin birth and the seed of David too).
  8. Then Jesus should not have prayed, "Father forgive them..." but rather "Father forgive us..." because He too would be a sinner.
  9. If it's denied, then the whole Bible's claims to be infallible and the final authority of the Church would be false.
The virgin birth is denied also because of the denial of miracles. They say, "Ah that's total fiction." as the typical atheist would say. Now let's consider the stepfather of Jesus- even if he would not be acquainted with childbirth as much as the average gynecologist today, he was not a naive man. When he discovered Mary was with child, he jumped into the quick judgment that she had cheated on him. It took a visit from the angel Gabriel to convince him that Mary was pregnant with the Son of God.

Another objection is that the virgin birth is pagan but in the reality, Genesis 3:15 was already declared by God WAY BEFORE pagan civilizations wrote their own perversions of God's promise. We have the instance of mythological virgin births- perhaps the most popular ones are like how Zeus came into Danae in the form of a shower of gold to produce Perseus and later, came into Alcmene to produce Hercules. Buddha was claimed to have come from a virgin birth though it was confirmed he was simply born of the king. Others claimed to have virgin births. However the quality of their stories are icky to the core. In the case of Greek myths, Zeus lusted after Danae and to produce Hercules, he deceived Alcmene by having sex with her in the form of her husband, a doctrine that later permeated itself into Mormonism concerning Jesus' conception. Many others claim to be born from bestiality- like the six tusked white elephant that supposedly produced Buddha or some even claimed they were born from snakes or whatever animals they can think of. How immoral can that get?! This is FAR different from the virgin birth of Jesus by God the Holy Spirit who provided His body in the womb of Mary.

And here's another thing- time to go back to Mary the earthly mother. During the crucifixion, she would have stopped it but she knew that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. No mother to save her own reputation would allow her son to be horribly mutilated and killed but she did, because as said, she knew that God is Jesus' Father and that Jesus is God the Son. She knew that Jesus would die also for her sins too! And in fact, she the mother of Jesus in His human nature knew that it had to be fulfilled.

Note: Baptists DO NOT exalt Mary above everyone else. She is but a human being, a sinner saved by grace. She could not intercede. John 2:5 has Mary telling Christians to just DO WHATEVER JESUS TELLS YOU to prove she wanted people to understand she could not mediate for them by any means.
