Blasphemy from John O'Brien's Book "Faith of Millions"
In the late John O' Brien's book "Faith of Millions" he writes:
When the priest pronounces the tremendous words of consecration, he reaches up into the heavens, brings Christ down from His throne, and places Him upon our altar to be offered up again as the Victim for the sins of man. It is a power greater than that of monarchs and emperors: it is greater than that of saints and angels, greater than that of Seraphim and Cherubim. Indeed it is greater even than the power of the Virgin Mary. While the Blessed Virgin was the human agency by which Christ became incarnate a single time, the priest brings Christ down from heaven, and renders Him present on our altar as the eternal Victim for the sins of man—not once but a thousand times! The priest speaks and lo! Christ, the eternal and omnipotent God, bows His head in humble obedience to the priest’s command.
This is pretty much DISTURBING if you ask me one way or another. Clearly as a Roman Catholic priest, he is defending the temporal power of the priests and worse, even has affirmed the blasphemy that is making people rely on the priests and even the Pope when he specified that the power of the priest during the blasphemous Mass that the priest does the following which he DOES NOT and I will really write down my comments on that and as a former Roman Catholic, I am here to write this offensive topic for the sake of the souls of a lot who are about to enter Hell:
- The priest brings Christ down from Heaven? It really is that amazingly blasphemous me that by one way or another, the Roman Catholic priesthood has gone that far to even claim they can bring Christ down and REPEAT THE SACRIFICE at Calvary on the altar? Really that is really, really blasphemous and stupid.
- Hebrews 10:12 says from the Roman Catholic translation saying, "Christ however offered ONE SACRIFICE for sins an offering that is EFFECTIVE FOREVER and then He sat down at the RIGHT HAND SIDE OF GOD." That very much opposes the statement, "not once but a thousand times." but really, I think it's been MILLIONS of times already!
- Humble obedience to the priest's command? Really? What kind of heresy is this? Christ grants our requests but ONLY He be glorified and that only He be Lord. For one, this is where the priest becomes guilty of easy believism because Christ has already become a "personal Savior" to the priest without being Lord. In Lordship salvation, Christ is the Lord of EVERY believer- Christians grant requests from God so they can further obey Him, not that He grants requests so He can obey them!
Really, I'm not surprised at how far the traditions of men can go! There is NOTHING different about the sex abuses in public schools or the Roman Catholic parishes. Sin is sin.
