Verses Misused to Justify the Black Nazarene Procession

Well it's the idolatrous feast of the Black Nazarene and again, I would stress out that the Black Nazarene is NOT the Jesus Christ of the Bible. Now I would like to share the verses that were misused namely Colossians 2:15 and Psalm 68:25.

Now it's time to finally time to analyze these verses and not cherry-pick on them which I will quote from the Good News Bible:
Colossians 2:15- "And on that cross, Christ freed Himself from the power of the spiritual rulers or authorities that he made a public spectacle of them by leading them as captives in His victory procession."
Psalm 68:25- "Your procession comes into view o God, your procession into the holy place my God and King."

So one, the word procession is definitely not the wrong word to use for the translation. If we check the dictionary, a procession is a parade, an entrance. The origin came from the Middle English from the Anglo-French processiun from the Latin procesio or act of proceeding. Normally the Bible has a series of processions or entrances like the Ark of the Covenant (which some Catholic apologists try to justify their idolatry). In Psalm 68, yes we do have a procession or entrance but definitely NOT an idolatrous one. Every parade is a procession or ENTRANCE. Now I don't need to tackle much on that compared to the misuse of Colossians 2:15 into context.

Let us first talk about what we find in Colossians 2:15. First, we realize that Colossians 2 as a chapter outlines the freedom of believers in Christ. In fact, also in that chapter also we read of many verses that really go against extra-biblical tradition when it comes to worship and these verses seem to be frequently ignored for convenience sake and I'm again quoting from the Good News Translation yet again:

Verse 8 says, "See to it then that no one enslaves you by means of the worthless deceit of HUMAN wisdom which comes from the TEACHINGS handed down by HUMAN BEINGS and from the ruling spirits."
Verse 16 which succeeds it says, "So let NO ONE make rules ABOUT WHAT YOU EAT OR DRINK or about HOLY DAYS or the New Moon Festival or the Sabbath."
Verse 18 says, "Do not allow yourselves to be condemned by anyone who CLAIMS TO BE SUPERIOR because of SPECIAL VISIONS and who insists on FALSE HUMILITY and the worship of angels. For no reason at all such people are puffed up in their HUMAN WAY OF THINKING."

By looking at these verses, we see the reality that Roman Catholics even from the Good News Translation have been warned about their manmade traditions and not the traditions taught from the Scriptures. I mean after all, they let the Council of Trent and their leaders interpret the Bible for them which for some time, the Catholic Church forbade Bible reading and it was condemned by no surprise, the Council of Trent! No wonder a lot of Baptist Christians before the Reformation were hunted down like animals. Martin Luther translating the Bible from Latin into German was also the start of another Reformation.

In fact, looking at verses 8, 16, and 18 which I have emphasized for this, the Council of Trent in itself is a council of humans who while claiming to have the Holy Spirit is getting it from ruling spirits. In fact, how many doctrines and extrabiblical traditions have they created? For example, just who gave them the authority to suddenly decide babies go to Limbo or you could actually even add doctrines like the rosary and praying to Mary? I would also like to point out that during Lent, which religion says we can't eat meat? 1 Timothy 4:3 also lists the command to abstain from certain foods and that it is wrong to marry. Aren't the priests of Rome taught it's wrong for them to marry? Isn't Catholicism also emphasizing that during Lent no meat will be eaten? Mind you, it was even a crime executable by burning if one was caught eating meat during the Lenten season during the Dark Ages. Worse, they are also praying to angels and claim for special visions. These "special visions" are not at all really from God. Every vision must be filtered and tested through the Bible but sadly, Catholics tend to believe it immediately.

I'm just so sad to how so many people refuse to study the Bible and let some council interpret it for them!
