Some Roman Catholic Theologians Were FOR DEATH PENALTY!

What is hypocritical is that the former pope Benedict XVI and the current Pope Francis have renounced death penalty as inhuman. So is this papal infallibility again refuted by their own actions? However let us take a look at some Roman Catholic theologians who were for death penalty. Please note the horrors of the Roman Catholic Inquisition which is now "just a myth" for some Catholic apologists.

Here's the list of Catholic theologians who were in favor of death penalty and I got them from a Catholic source namely Catholic Education:
  • Thomas Aquinas (canonized as a saint)
  • Don Scotus
  • Robert Bellarmine, SJ (canonized as a saint)
  • Alphonsus Ligouri (canonized as a saint)
  • Cardinal Joseph Bernardin made it clear that death penalty did not mean murder.
  • The late John Paul II who was canonized by Pope Francis said, "the direct and voluntary killing of an innocent human being is always gravely immoral."
  • Pope Pius XII was also for death penalty.

So here's the reality. The Roman Catholic stand on death penalty is already more of abolishing it for their convenience rather than upholding God's Word. The so-called papal infallibility is nothing more than a sham. If the Pope truly could not be wrong of doctrine when he sits on his chair, why has Benedict XVI and then Pope Francis go against John Paul II who supported death penalty for the most extreme cases?

The Vatican held the Mass of Pardon, hoping to fool the world with its "being sorry" for the atrocities of the past. What must also be considered is that the Roman Catholic institution had a LONG bloody list of crimes. The Inquisition is undeniable but Catholic apologists continue to deny the real picture of it, even during the Day of Pardon Mass.

The calling for abolition of death penalty in countries where majority are Catholics has led to bad results. Crime rates have increased like rape, murder, drug dealing and the like. You have Catholics who stand by their fellow Catholic who has done a crime worthy of death. All these are nothing more to cover up the Inquisition. Even so, come Lord Jesus!
