Alcoholism is Slow Suicide

Proverbs 20:1 says, "Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise."

Sin is sin and it always be sin. Although the effects aren't always immediate but one doesn't realize that they may be committing suicide. The drunkard may not always suffer the effects of alcoholism immediately. But one thing is certain alcoholism is not good for your body. While alcohol kills germs outwardly but it also acts as poison to the human body. It's like how muriatic acid kills germs and helps disinfect the place but it won't benefit the human body.

The effects show from merely getting high to slow deterioration of one's system. It doesn't always work fast. It slowly sends poison to the blood stream that spreads throughout the whole body. The internal organs start to get poisoned by it. It doesn't only poison the blood but also the mind of the person. Getting drunk can impair one's mental judgment. Even people who have stopped drinking may still suffer from the permanent damage it did to the mind and body. A person may soon get liver cancer even if the person has stopped drinking years ago as a consequence of that sin. In truth, was the alcoholism all worth it? It gives way to suicidal behavior showing evidence it's indeed slow suicide.

Enslaved by alcohol? 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 warns that drunkenness is a mark of an unsaved man. 1 Corinthians 6:11 says that there's deliverance from sin. Any sin can be overcome when one receives Jesus Christ as one's Lord and Savior. Don't let the love for sin prevent you from getting saved!
