Do You Know Charles H. Spurgeon's Evangelistic Secret?

It's highly possible that some readers are actually familiar with Ray Comfort's various projects such as "Hell's Best Kept Secret", "True and False Conversion" and "Revival's Golden Key". Notice that Charles H. Spurgeon is mentioned in all three works of Comfort. However, we may have never focused on these truths concerning C.H. Spurgeon's success as a preacher. According to The Spurgeon Center's article called " Spurgeon's Evangelistic Secret ", here are ways that the great preacher had run his ministry putting all in God's hands: 1.) He had deep confidence in the power of God I won't bring too much of a debate between Calvinism and non-Calvinism. But who says Calvinism kills soulwinning? Calvinism was the motive behind Spurgeon's motives to go soulwinning with this quote: If there be an elect soul whom God predestines to be converted by my word, he may have fetched him home from Australia to-day,

True Christianity Has No Room for Freemasonry

Image
It's disgusting how Freemasonry is also another dangerous infiltration in Christian churches. It's done through pastors and deacons who are Freemasons. Note that many of these Masonic pastors are also open partners with the Vatican. Some even openly admit they are Freemasons as well. One may ask the question, "Can a Christian be a Freemason?" The answer is absolutely not because the two are irreconcilable. Amos 3:3 warns that can the two walk together except they be agreed.  According to the Baptist Press , here's a couple of reasons why Freemasonry and Christianity are 100% incompatible: The "Closer Look" provides documentation and explanation for the eight concerns of the original 1993 report on Freemasonry, which it summarized with the following statements:  1) "Freemasonry uses offensive, non-biblical, and blasphemous terms relating to God."  2) "Freemasonry insists on the use of 'bloody oaths' or obligation, whic

David's Greatest Enemy Was His Self-Confidence

David's greatest enemy was neither Saul nor Goliath but his self-confidence. We read of how David had become such a successful king that he had grown overconfident. 2 Samuel 11 details for us the ugly truth of David's self-confidence. It was the time for kings to go to war but where was David? He still tarried in Jerusalem. This is where David's self-confidence became his downfall. Perhaps he thought he had served God so faithfully, he has won many battles - all the while he never expected that his midlife crisis (David was most likely in his late 40s when he saw Bathsheba) would bring his downfall. Solomon was 20 when David was 70 - which may make David 49 years old when he saw Bathsheba. The situation of David's adultery was pretty much a middle aged man with a very young woman. Bathsheba was obviously young enough to be his daughter. Her grandfather Ahitophel was once an adviser of David. It's possible that David once burped Bathsheba as an infant when he wa

David Received Plenty of God's Trials During His Times of Popularity

Image
There was no doubt David was becoming popular to the eyes of the people of Israel. Not only did he put an end to the Philistine champion Goliath but now, he was more popular than the ungodly Saul. 1 Samuel 18:7-8  And the women answered one another as they played, and said, Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands. [8] And Saul was very wroth, and the saying displeased him; and he said, They have ascribed unto David ten thousands, and to me they have ascribed but thousands: and what can he have more but the kingdom? It can be observed that David's popularity also brought him God's trials. God could have chosen to let David enjoy his newfound popularity. Instead, he allowed the wickedness of Saul to harass David in many instances. We can read that Saul was frequently after the life of David. We can read that Saul attempted to murder David with a javelin from a distance (1 Samuel 18:11). Later, he set David to slay a hundred Philistines out with murderou

Southern Baptist Convention's Unholy Compromise with Roman Catholicism?

Image
It's sick to think how the Southern Baptist Convention may already be driven to such apostasy. If you've got female pastors in some Baptist or Southern Baptist churches (though this doesn't represent the whole Southern Baptist movement either) then think of more unscriptural messes coming in. It's no surprise that some popular Southern Baptist preachers such as Rick Warren is in unholy compromise with Rome. I remembered how Warren himself praises Pope Francis a lot. Billy Graham was also a member of SBC and he was a good friend of Pope John Paul II. Martin Luther King Jr. was also seen talking in Jesuit universities hence proving his links to the Jesuit Order. This is something to think about that God-fearing Southern Baptists should always keep in mind that they not exempt from the problem of infiltration. Here, Paul Washer a Southern Baptist pastor now warns about the dangers of Roman Catholicism. It's a shame really how certain Baptist movements have com

Missions Without Love Are Meaningless

Image
There is the saying that you can't have the Great Commission without first obeying the Great Commandment. Mark 16:15 says, "Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature." It's good to have missions. It's good to talk about reaching out the lost. But one must first ask this question, "Are you obeying the great commandment?" These verses talk about the Great Commandment: Matthew 22:37-40 Jesus saith unto Him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with thy soul and with all thy mind. [38] This is the first and great commandment. [39] And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. [40] On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. Mark 12:29-31  And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: [30] And thous shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul and with all thy mind with all thy s

Having No Pity for the Poor Is a Sign of Being an Unsaved Person

Although not everyone who has pity for the poor is saved but one of the signs that a person is definitely not saved is having no pity for the poor. Here are a couple of verses from Proverbs that shows how having no mercy for the poor can be a good indicator that you are not saved: Proverbs 14:31  He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker: but he that honoureth him hath mercy on the poor.  Proverbs 17:5  Whoso mocketh the poor reproacheth his Maker and he that is glad at calamities shall not be unpunished.  Proverbs 19:17  He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.  This reminds me of the story of the rich man and Lazarus where we read the following;  Luke 16:19-31  There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: [20] And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, [21] And desiring to be fed with t

Nehemiah's Prayer is Confession Before Petition

Here is the record of Nehemiah's prayer of confession before petition: And said, I beseech thee, O Lord God of heaven, the great and terrible God, that keepeth covenant and mercy for them that love Him and observe His commandments: [6] Let thine ear now be attentive, and thine eyes open, that thou mayest hear the prayer of Thy servant, which I pray before thee now, day and night, for the children of Israel Thy servants, and confess the sins of the children of Israel, which we have sinned against thee: both I and my father's house have sinned. [7] We have dealt very corruptly against Thee, and have not kept the commandments, nor the statutes, nor the judgments, which thou commandedst thy servant Moses. [8] Remember, I beseech Thee, the word that thou commandedst thy servant Moses, saying, If ye transgress, I will scatter you abroad among the nations: [9] But if ye turn unto Me, and keep My commandments, and do them; though there were of you cast out unto the uttermost part of

Revelation 3:20 Doesn't Support Easy Prayerism

I remembered that some people did get saved after they said the sinner's prayer. As Paul David Washer would say it, he would say it as, "Some of you here are saved not because of it but in spite of it." If there's any reason why some sinner's prayer evangelism managed to succeed is because of the following reasons: The pastor is not wishy-washy in his preaching. He promotes repentance of sins as part of salvation. He convicts sin which people go to the altar call and pray their own sinner's prayer (or seldom repeat after me) where they put their trust in the Savior and not in the prayer. If said "converts" are not living according to the Christian life, the pastor confronts them not by saying, "Look you're a Christian and you shouldn't be doing that!" Instead, he says something like, "If you think you have a license to sin after you're saved then you're a fake convert. True converts don't want to live life the sa

Raising Children to Be Gender-Neutral Is Plain Stupidity

It's so sickening to think how people today want to have a gender-neutral policy in raising children. The DNA will always prevail - male and female is determined by DNA structure and not by one's upbringing. Sadly, some people today even want to have "gender neutrality". This is from the Global News and this is really sick: The going classification for babies has been pretty standard for the last 70 years or so — pink equals girl, blue equals boy. Not that associating colour with a baby’s gender is going to have much of an impact in the early days of their lives, but let’s face it, it’s hard to tell when they all have the same red, scrunchy face.  But there’s a growing movement among parents to not disclose the gender of their babies, and it’s not just that they’re rejecting the (admittedly bizarre) trope of gender-reveal parties. These parents are raising their children without gender, shunning the personal pronouns "she" and "he" in favour

Christians, Please Pray with Your Pastor

Image
I was reading the Spurgeon evening devotional dated April 16 and the key verse was Exodus 17:12. Exodus 17 records two events. One of them was where Moses fetched water from a rock in Horeb. The place was later called Massah and Meribah. From Exodus 7:8-16, we can read of the situation where the children of Israel were struggling against the wicked Amalekites. One thing worth noting in this situation is that as long as Moses had his arms raised that Israel prevailed. But when he was tired, Israel started to lose. This is where both Aaron and Hur came into the picture. Moses' arms were tired and weary. He was 80 years old. Aaron was 83 years old. It's not easy to be an old man leading a flock of rebellious people. Moses was getting weaker. Amalek prevailed over the children of Israel when Moses' arms started to weaken. Both Aaron and Hur started helping Moses put his arms up. It was a struggle. Joshua soon won the battle but only when Moses had two more to assist in the

The Danger of Introducing Charismatic Worship Practices into Born Again Christian Churches

Image
I remembered a couple of incidents that happened in a Baptist church and academy. One pastor who was in charge of having chapel hours ended up writing that he ended saying that worship services, youth fellowship and chapel hours should be a time to unwind. That's why he was introducing charismatic methods of worship for that reason. True, worship services are a time to unwind but he had started introducing the dangerous world of Charismatic Chaos. This pastor is probably an adherent of the heretical Bapticostal movement where elements of the Pentecostal worship has been integrated into the Baptist church. I would agree that worship services, youth fellowship and chapel hours are indeed times to unwind. Who doesn't want at least an hour or two to rest with God on a Sunday morning or evening service or the Wednesday evening service? Youth fellowships and chapel hours also help time to unwind from the stress of work and school. But we are not talking about having worldly fun

Avalokitesvara's Evolution From Tammuz to Semiramis

Image
One of the most bizarre things about pagan religion is the teaching of reincarnation. Some gods in later religions would go from male to female depending on which incarnation. I believe that this is a result of one truth: as Babylon Religion evolves there's a whole lot of conflicting stories that it's really one serious mess! In one region of the world to another the cycle of paganism would depend on the movement of either the sun or the moon. Regardless, it was paganism. While Buddhism may claim to be non-theistic but action speaks louder than words. In fact, many of its branches are becoming inclusive. You could see Buddhists teaming up with various religions including Roman Catholicism. Let's take a look at the god (or goddess) known as Avalokitesvara. The name means "The one who looks down with compassion." Earlier Sankrit says "the lord who looks from above" or "he who looks from above". Yet overtime, this god became a goddess. It seem

Rich Atheists May End Up Finding Themselves in Hell Someday

Image
It's time for a new post concerning atheism considering that it's April 1 isn't it? April 1 is rightfully National Atheist Day while today is also Easter Sunday for this year. Psalm 14:1 says that the fool says in his heart that there is no God. This is the problem today. People who are so foolish are so wise in their own eyes (Proverbs 12:15, 26:12). You have atheists who say Christians are fools because they are "too enlightened" in this day and age to believe that there is a God. Why some atheists even say they are better than Christians is because of existence of rich atheists. It's no surprise that I read of rich atheists and lower income Christians. This is the situation in Luke 16:19-31. This is what the Bible says about the situation: There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: [20] And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, [21] And desirin
