This World Offers Nothing But False Peace

It's no secret that the signs of the times are indeed upon us. Read Matthew 24 and 2 Timothy 3 then read the newspapers - you will see that they match. The world is longing for peace. Unfortunately not all peace is real peace. In fact, the Bible warns of false peace. Here are Bible verses that warn about false peace:
Jeremiah 6:13-15
For from the least of them even unto the greatest of them every one is given to covetousness; and from the prophet even unto the priest every one dealeth falsely. 14 They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of My people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace. 15 Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the time that I visit them they shall be cast down, saith the LORD.
Jeremiah 8:10-12
Therefore will I give their wives unto others, and their fields to them that shall inherit them: for every one from the least even unto the greatest is given to covetousness, from the prophet even unto the priest every one dealeth falsely. 11 For they have healed the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace. 12 Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore shall they fall among them that fall: in the time of their visitation they shall be cast down, saith the LORD.

The truth is worldly peace isn't going to last long. There may be moments of peace but all of it isn't meant to last forever. You can read the Book of Judges and see how often the sin cycles happen. You can see one troublesome regime after the other. World history tells us that worldly peace isn't meant to last. The world offers nothing but false peace. How many tyrannical regimes are replaced with incompetent ones and vice versa? It proves that this world can never offer any true and lasting peace.

Worse, the Antichrist supposedly comes as a man of peace. He isn't going to be an obvious monster. He will be loved by the world.
Daniel 8:25
And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.
Daniel 11:21-24
And in his estate shall stand up a vile person, to whom they shall not give the honour of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries. 22 And with the arms of a flood shall they be overflown from before him, and shall be broken; yea, also the prince of the covenant. 23 And after the league made with him he shall work deceitfully: for he shall come up, and shall become strong with a small people. 24 He shall enter peaceably even upon the fattest places of the province; and he shall do that which his fathers have not done, nor his fathers' fathers; he shall scatter among them the prey, and spoil, and riches: yea, and he shall forecast his devices against the strong holds, even for a time.
1 Thessalonians 5:3
For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

This is the biggest irony. Many want peace but reject the only Person who can give true and lasting peace. While Jesus came to bring division but it's division between those who are His and those who aren't His. You can see how the world itself is in need of peace but it will never have peace - not as long as it's at war with a holy, righteous God. It will only be a matter of time before the Prince of Peace will bring peace at the cost of the unholy ones will be destroyed. Are you ready for true peace? Then you must receive Jesus the Prince of Peace as your Lord and Savior. There is no other way.
