Would You Give Away Some Reese's Chocolates Accompanied by Gospel Tracts to Lost Souls Asking for Some Candy This Halloween?

Happy first day of October! Last year was the celebration of the 500 years of the Reformation. Now it's the 501st anniversary of said event. But take note that before the Reformation that there were already many Christian groups who opposed the so-called "true church" that claimed to have been founded on Jesus Christ but is ran by unbiblical, manmade traditions! That institution called itself Catholic or universal. Today, it's also known as the Roman Catholic institution! No, Jesus wasn't its founder and neither did Peter become the first Pope!

It's really a matter of huge controversy of Christians and Halloween. Some say it's okay while others say it's not. Personally, I don't want to be celebrating Halloween because I don't want people to dress up as practitioners of the occult. Let's consider why Christians shouldn't be celebrating Halloween like the world does. Why would you let your children dress up as ghouls and demons or anything that's an abomination before God? Halloween is linked to Samhain yet thank God that October 31 isn't exclusively for Satan. It was also a great revival in Europe. The great Martin Luther nailed the 95 Theses (which were written in German) and declared salvation is by faith alone but not by a faith that is alone. Also, Luther wasn't inventing new doctrines but he was declaring the Biblical truth of Sola Scriptura.

One idea that could come might be the joke of the 95 Reese's. A pastor said, "I don't have 95 Reese's but 95 Theses." it was a joke that went viral. However, a good idea to counter Halloween and Trick or Treaters can be some good old Reese's. My personal preference is the peanut butter cups. It would be a typical scenario that some Christians may think of hiding throughout Halloween and missing the opportunity to hand out Gospel tracts. Reese's would probably a good idea and accompany them with a Gospel tract when a trick or treater comes in. Of course, Christians can show they aren't celebrating the satanic holiday of Halloween by not decorating their houses with satanic decorations. However, these Trick or Treaters knock asking for candy so why not give them some together with a Gospel tract?

This time, it may be wise to be careful of which tracts you are using. I remembered how some people say that Chick Tracts do get read (and I admit some people did get saved reading them) but some of its titles are overly offensive and too filled with conspiracy theories. While the Gospel shouldn't compromise yet the problem with Chick Tracts is that some of them tend to portray lost people as criminals rather than as victims of false teaching that must be warned. A good suggestion might be using tracts from Living Waters Ministries by Ray Comfort. Others may include Fellowship Tract League. I heard from Pulpit and Pen that one could order good Gospel tracts from One Million Tracts and Tract Planet.

One could also come up with a bit of a joke. Why not drop off a bag filled with 95 Reese's with Gospel tracts where you'd know witches would gather around. Another would be dropping a bag filled with 95 Reese's with some love letters to Roman Catholics or a copy of Dr. John F. MacArthur's article called "Evangelicals and Catholics Together" to let them know that the Reformation is part of the Church's history and that it's still going on. It would be the best way to "celebrate" Halloween - by bringing out the Gospel to lost Trick or Treaters and possibly witches asking for candy. Who knows maybe that witch or occultist you gave some Reese' and a Gospel tract may get saved on Halloween thus ruining Satan's holiday!
