The Bitter Waters of Marah Were Made Sweet

Image
Do you complain that you are suffering some bitter situations right now? For the Christian - God has a wonderful purpose for all the sufferings. If one says that God has a wonderful plan for the life of the Christian - they must never ignore that part of it is blessing but through suffering. A similar situation can be seen in Exodus 15:22-27: So Moses brought Israel from the Red Sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water. 23 And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah. 24 And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink? 25 And he cried unto the LORD and the LORD shewed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there he proved them, 26 And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God,...

Does Acts 8:30-31 Dismiss Sola Scriptura?

It's a pity really how often opponents of Sola Scriptura use Scripture to refute it. Now, I even read from an amateur and self-proclaimed  Catholic "apologist" (as well as other professional Catholic apologists) that Acts 8:30-31 "refutes" Sola Scriptura. Now let's take a look what it says and I will use the Good News Translation even if I only use the King James for my English translation. Acts 8:30-31  Philip ran over and heard him reading from the book of the prophet Isaiah. He asked him, “Do you understand what you are reading?” 31 The official replied, “How can I understand unless someone explains it to me?” And he invited Philip to climb up and sit in the carriage with him. Congratulations on missing the point of the passage of Scripture! This passage would note refute Sola Scriptura but Solo Scriptura. The difference is that Solo Scriptura only has the Bible as the only authority but not as the source of authority. Sola Scriptura is the guiding ...

The Terrorist Attack Against Mosques in New Zealand is No Better than Islamic Terrorism

Image
There is nothing good about what happened in Christchurch, New Zealand a few days ago. While Islam is indeed an evil religion but we do have to realize these things about Islam: The average Muslim today (especially those living in non-Muslim or non-Islamic state countries) have no idea that they belong to a death cult. They may not even have the idea that Muhammad was actually a terrorist or want them to murder Christians. They may not even have an idea that the Koran is actually a violent book. Jesus had taught Christians a very different approach on how to love your enemies in Matthew 5:44 and Luke 6:27-25.  Ephesians 6:12 says that the Christian's daily war isn't against flesh and blood but the demonic forces of Satan. The war against Islam is a spiritual warfare to warn Muslims about Hell and tell them that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords! Some of the Muslims that suffered the trauma or even died without Christ that day are ac...

The Bible and the Health Benefits of Honey

Image
Introduction Honey itself is written in the Bible as something good. Today, many people just don't realize the much bigger health benefits of honey than they've known. So how is the Bible on honey? The promised land of Canaan which was promised to the descendants of Jacob was once known to be a land of milk and honey - that was way before the climate change and when Egypt was once a lush country but it later got subjected to climate change (Isaiah 19:1). Honey is a symbol of health and wealth. Genesis 43:11 calls honey an honored gift. We have Jonathan who encouraged the soldiers to eat honey so they can get out of Saul's stupid decision (1 Samuel 14:24-27) which said person's eyes brightened. Then we have honey used in the New Testament to where John the Baptist survived by it (Matthew 3:1-4). Honey itself is a symbol of God's providence and wisdom. Certainly it was not by random accidents as atheists would want us to believe that honey is indeed a wonderfu...

The Roman Catholic Confessional's Hypocrisy

Image
Here's a funny cartoon of that shows the reality of the Vatican and it's something that's well-hidden from the average Roman Catholic today. The centuries worth of violent history of the Vatican isn't the only one hidden but also the priestly scandals. If Roman Catholics knew the truth then it would be detrimental, right? Then the same can also go because of the confessionals. I'm writing this one because today is Ash Wednesday and I remembered I once ate meat on that day and I was required to go to the confessional - back when I was still a Roman Catholic! How hypocritical is the confessional? Although it's not directly states that it's a license to sin but it's becoming a license to sin. I remembered the first time I went to confession as a Roman Catholic for my first communion. I remembered after saying the Act of Contrition - the priest asked me to pray X Our Fathers and Y Hail Marys. I soon prayed them and believed I was forgiven. Then it came i...

Raising Soulwinning Awareness This Fire Prevention Month

Image
March is Fire Prevention Month but there's one question worth asking, "Is soulwinning being done to people who are in the danger of eternal Hell?" It's very discouraging to go soulwinning because not everyone will be saved. But here's one truth that you can take comfort on - you can't win everyone but you can warn everyone! Hmmm maybe we should call it going soul-warning as well since not everyone will be won? Leonard Ravenhill would have a quote to go with this, "Could a fireman sit idle, let men burn and give ho hand?" While salvation itself isn't just eternal insurance from Hell but we can't deny we should tell people about Hell. Warning people about sin wouldn't make sense if the wicked will just get annihilated after death. Warning people about Hell makes way more sense if people are going to suffer in the Lake of Fire. Hell is real, hot and painful and the only cold comfort that a moral but unsaved person gets is a cooler Hell -...
