There is NO Purgatory

The argument can't be substantiated with the statement that the word Purgatory is not in the Bible because other words like atheist, Trinity, eternal security and sacrament are also not used because of the old English issues.  So it's time to refute the existence of Purgatory in a better way than the word doesn't exist logic, rather by straight facts that refute such a doctrine ever exists!

In the handbook of Today's Catholic page 47 one can read: "If you die in the love of God but possess any stains of sin, such stains are cleansed away in a purifying process called Purgatory. These stains of sin are primarily the temporal punishment due to venial or mortal sins already forgiven but for which sufficient penance was not done during your lifetime."  This of course denies the fact that Jesus paid it all on the cross when He said, "It is finished." in John 19:30.  If a person needed to pass through Purgatory before entering into Heaven then the blood is declared insufficient.  Sadly this doctrine tramples on the blood of Jesus (Hebrews 10:29).

Catholics would also like to point out to the following 1 Corinthians 3:15 to justify the state of purification from sin.  However it's simply taken out of context and they would simply throw in another useless debate.  So if they would just read EVERY part of the Bible, they would realize that the fires talked about here would be the fires of judgment on the WORKS of man that good works of a Christian will result to rewards and the bad works will be destroyed which again destroys the accusation of saying that eternal security is a license to sin.  We can be certain that there are Christians these days who may also have more Burger King crowns instead of having more gold crowns and some gold crowns as well due to inconsistent fruit bearing.

The fact also about Purgatory can be read as this based on Pastor Anthony Pezzotta, former Roman Catholic priest and writer of Truth Encounter in page 221:
"The doctrine was officially introduced by Pope Gregory I in AD 593 (that was when the Pope was still called the Bishop of Rome, emphasis mine) but it was defined a dogma only during the Council of Florence in AD 1439 and solemnly confirmed over a century later by the Council of Trent.  This doctrine is the reason why many Catholics especially the rich ones spend a lot of money to have masses celebrated for their departed loved ones.  They believe that almost all adult Roman Catholics who do not go to Hell will have to spend some time in Purgatory before being admitted to Heaven.  The masses allegedly get people out of Purgatory and into Heaven."

That is plain and total nonsense.  So it took from AD 593 as an INTRODUCED DOCTRINE, then the dogma was confirmed in A.D. 1439 (wow, much time has passed!) and then a CENTURY LATER by the Council of Trent?  Certainly Martin Luther wasn't mistaken when he said this:
"Since then your majesty and your lordships desire a simple reply, I will answer without horns and without teeth.  Unless I am convicted by Scripture and plain reason - I do not accept the authority of Popes and councils, for they have contradicted each other - my conscience is captive to the Word of God.  I cannot and I will not recant anything for to go against conscience is neither right nor safe.  Here I stand, I cannot do otherwise. God help me.  Amen."

See what happens when you reject Sola Scriptura?  There's no clear direction.  So much for that stupid book called "101 Arguments Against Sola Scriptura", it's as stupid as that 801 page book called "The Believer's Conditional Security" which is just as evil as Antinomianism.  Clearly Martin Luther acknowledged that the Popes and councils have contradicted each other.  In fact, Purgatory is clearly a manmade doctrine when one really shows the Roman Catholic timeline.  Even the doctrine of Limbo is manmade.  Again so what happened?  Mark 7:9 says, "Full ye reject the commandment of God that ye may KEEP YOUR OWN TRADITION."  How true.  That's why the Roman Catholics reject Sola Scriptura, that's why their off-shoot cults don't agree the Bible is 100% true and has to be interpreted by their so-called "infallible interpreters" when in fact, taking a look at "papal infallibility" one doctrine even dares to override the other.  Purgatory is no exception to that.

This nonsense can really go far.  How?  We have had the habit of getting through the current newspapers and there have been people dead for quite so long.  One was 17 years, another was 30 years, another was 68 years and what was worse is that, prayer for somebody dead for 92 years- it clearly denies the truth of once to die but after this the judgment!  Besides, often ignored and MISUSED is this verse namely Hebrews 9:27- "As it is appointed unto man ONCE to die but after this the judgment."  That means there is no period that anybody must stay in Purgatory, they either go to Heaven or to Hell directly.  No amount of masses can save the soul of the unsaved from Hell.  No.  They must remain there FOREVER.  What is now even dumber despite being shown Hebrews 9:27, many Catholics insist that the verse does not debunk their heresy.  How sad!
