Some Sources Used to Refute Roman Catholicism and Islam Tend to Be Overly Offensive

There's no doubt that the Roman Catholic institution and Islam both have their violent religious histories. I don't want to deny the atrocities such as the Inquisition, the Crusades, the Jesuit arranged murders, the Christian massacre in Morocco and the rise of Islamic terrorism. Yet there's one approach that could be detrimental to missions - it's all about how Christians approach the average Roman Catholic and Muslim in regards to the Gospel.

I remembered being fascinated at reading whatever I could about the Vatican and its current secret connections to Islam. However, what can be easily ignored is the sad truth that many of the average Roman Catholics and Muslims today don't know anything about the violent history of their religions. Many Roman Catholics are misled into believing that the Inquisition and the Crusades are just a myth or a fabrication by the Devil. Many Muslims today even believe that their religion is one of peace and they don't condone to Islamic terrorism.

The problem is that some Christians tend to get sources that make the average Roman Catholic or Muslim look like he or she is automatically a criminal today. Many Muslims today don't even know that the Islamic State is supported by the Koran. Muslim refugees are a reality because they are actually hiding from Muslim extremists. Many Roman Catholics today are even misled into believing that reports of priestly abuses are but Satan's efforts to attack the "one true church". Yet, some Christians foolishly use some sources that make Roman Catholics and Muslims look like that they're actually all criminals instead of victims of false teachings by their respective religions. Yes, they are part of a criminal system but they don't even know that they're in one.

If being sugar-coated and soft isn't the way to go then neither is becoming overly offensive. Some sites end up talking too much about the violent history of Roman Catholicism and Islam instead of preaching the Gospel to its misguided followers. Shouldn't it be time that the only thing that should offend them is the hard truth of the Gospel and not the approach? There's no room for compromise with the truth yet it must be delivered with love and concern for the lost soul. The Roman Catholic and the Muslim is no different from any other lost person - they are headed for Hell and that they need the Gospel.

Do you know any Roman Catholic or Muslim? You have to remember that they are victims of false teachings and that they are not necessarily criminals. Some of them are as law abiding as they can get or live as decently as they could. They need the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to be told what salvation is really about. What they need to hear is the good news of salvation more than their violent history that is hidden from them. Roman Catholics need to hear more about how Mary can't save them and how they should go directly to Jesus than they need to hear about the Inquisition. Muslims need to hear more about that Jesus Christ is the begotten Son of God and His offer of salvation more than they need to hear about how Muhammad spread Islam. The Gospel is what every lost sinner needs to hear first priority and nothing else but the Gospel should offend them.
