It's Been Several Years Already Yet Masses for the Dead Still Keep Going On and On?

It's really no coincidence that Reformation Day should hit on Halloween which is the night before All Saint's Day leading to All Souls' Day which is just a few days from now. What's the real problem there? I think of the situation of how somebody was dead last 1978 and now it's 2018 and how somebody was dead during World War 2 yet masses are still said for the eternal repose of said soul. While Roman Catholics do admit that Hebrews 9:27 is in their doctrine - however they do add the idea that Purgatory is needed for those who have died in the grace of God to wash away whatever "venial sins" there is.

This is the big idea of Purgatory - it's a continuous goldmine for the Roman Catholic institution! Their idea of salvation starts with infant baptism, doing one's first confession, receiving first communion, receiving confirmation and the last rites. But these do not come free - they all demand a fee. In fact, the late Baptist preacher and former Roman Catholic priest Anthony Pezzotta wrote this in his book "Truth Encounter":
Unlike the Middle Ages, most indulgences appropriated today are not bought or sold directly. But many do involve monetary exchanges such as the purchase of images or prayer beads that are used for prayer and penance. The most blatant form of selling indulgences still being practiced today is the stipend received by the "church" to secure a mass for the living or for the dead. No priest is allowed to celebrate the sacrifice of the mass unless an intention/stipend has been given.

I was reminded of the obituaries I've read in the newspaper. Many of them also include death anniversaries. They say that the person has died in the grace of God yet is still suffering in Purgatory. There's a long list of Roman Catholic parishes where masses for the dead would be said. I could imagine how much money is being paid to the priest and that money has to be paid. When you've got people believing that your priests save their souls then they will do anything (even give all their money) in order to buy salvation. Yet the Bible declares the truth before Martin Luther did that salvation is not for sale!

How absurd is it? I was thinking about the number of times somebody would ask to how many more masses were needed. Sometimes, I even read it in a Catholic publication that even a priest said, "I don't know. Only God knows. We just need more offerings." That Roman Catholic priest just indirectly admitted the dirty practice is indeed a continuous goldmine! I even heard that they will never tell you your relatives have achieved eternal rest. If they did then where's the cash flow going to come in for such a dirty system?

The timing of the Reformation which happened on October 31 was just the right timing. After all, it was two days prior to All Soul's Day. Johannes Tetzel was already publishing his heresy that when a coin in the coffer clings that a soul from Purgatory springs. That piece of historical information has been carefully hidden from the average Roman Catholic today. Sadly, the average Roman Catholic today knows almost nothing about the truth concerning the Dark Ages or the abuses of their beloved religion. They are still given sugar-coated, revised history which they label as the "pure, unaltered truth of the history of the Church founded last 33 A.D." further keeping the average Roman Catholic today in further bondage.
