The Burning Hell and God's Justice

We would like to raise the issue about the burning Hell and how it fits perfectly with God's justice. We have heard of the following objections to the Hell doctrine like:
  1. God's not fair to send people to Hell for simply rejecting Christ
  2. I don't believe in scare tactics
  3. Well there's still a chance after dying like Purgatory or reincarnation
  4. I'm a good person, I haven't done anything wrong.
  5. Even if I do go to Hell, all my friends will be there to greet me.
  6. Hell doesn't exist, it's only a fairy tale
Now it's time for us to defend the fact that Hell fits perfectly with God's justice vs. the objections:

#1- God's not fair to send people to Hell for simply rejecting Christ

Refute:
  • True morality demands there be a Hell where the wicked burn forever and forever. God's justice demands no sin should enter Heaven. Romans 3:10-19 declares everyone already a guilty sinner, unrighteous and destined for Hell. 1 Corinthians 10:9-10 declares that nobody righteous will ever enter into Heaven.
  • There is no excuse. Romans 1:20-21 says, "For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen being understood by the things that are made even His eternal power and Godhead so they are without excuse. Because that when they knew God they glorified Him not as God neither were thankful but became vain in their imaginations and their foolish heart was darkened." That means, the Triune God has provided evidence for His existence.
  • Also, the message of salvation is wide and open. Jesus Christ was sent to save man from Hell (John 3:16-18) but man continued to reject Him. He offers the free gift of salvation by Him alone to ANYBODY (John 6:37-40) but people choose to reject Him as well.
#2-I don't believe in scare tactics

Refute:
  • We do for Jesus preached about Hell more than Heaven. Read Luke 16:19-31 about the rich man and Lazarus which will soon be elaborated in this apologetics blog.

#3- There's still a chance after dying like Purgatory or reincarnation

Refute:
  • Hebrews 9:27- "For as it appointed unto man once to die but after this the judgment." That means, when man is dead it's all over. Either the man goes to Heaven or to Hell. If a man is saved, that person goes to Heaven if not, there is no other alternative- only Hell. Forget about all the Novenas for the dead, there is NO Purgatory. If there was, Hebrews 9:27 would be a joke.
#4- I'm a good person, I haven't done anything wrong.

Refute:
  • Not quite. Romans 3:19 declares ALL guilty before God. Romans 3:23 says ALL have sinned.
  • James 2:10-11 says if you break at least one of the ten commandments, you break the whole Law.
  • Mark 9:44-48 reveals the reality- if you want to work your way up, cut every part of you that sinned. Then again, it can't change the fact you've sinned.
  • 1 John 2:18 says that if anybody thinks they are sinless, they are liars. Uh oh!
  • If we're to talk about justice, EVERYBODY deserves to burn in Hell anyway!

#5- Even if I do go to Hell, all my friends will be there to greet me.

Refute:
  • If that is so, Luke 16:27-28 would not have the rich man wanting his brothers not to end up in Hell. Remember in Hell, God is absent and therefore, love is absent. The rich man still had himself in mind- he knew if his brothers went to Hell, they'll accuse him of leading them there.
  • If friendships happen in Hell then it wouldn't be so bad. But Hell is a place of cursing and true friends do not curse each other.

#6- Hell doesn't exist, it's only a fairy tale

Refute:
  • Let's go into science shall we? In the Bible, Hell is the VERY heart of the Earth (Matthew 12:40) and the core is the CENTER of the Earth. And the core is really VERY HOT. Read your science and find out how hot the core is... I hope that's enough proof. Read more here: http://www.av1611.org/hell_proof.html.

Also other reasons for Hell's existence in harmony with God's justice and giving sinful man their desire to be away from His presence:
  • Hell was originally created for Satan and his devils (Matthew 25:41). Soon his followers will go there too.
  • Men reject God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ so God gives them what they want- a place where He is absent. Where He is absent, there is but torment and suffering. Mark 9:8 says where the worm dies not and the fire is never quenched. Want God to be away then there's no relief. It's for people who wish not to spend eternity with God who they believe is unfair.
  • Because they reject the help that the Lord Jesus offers so they don't have to burn in Hell, they fall down because they rejected Christ. John 5:40 tells the sad fact men reject Christ and won't go to Him for salvation. Why? Many of them trust their own righteousness and love their sin (John 3:20).
  • Atheists want to live an equal society without any Christians then God gives them that place! Oh yeah bad news for them- there is NOTHING the damned can bring to improve their conditions. The rich man had not even a drop of water so don't expect more!
  • No Christian will be there that means no more Gospel preaching. The gulf is significant that no Christian can cross there.
  • A place where Communists can achieve an equal society without God in their lives but at the cost of their eternal conditions.
  • It's also for the self-righteous who think they can please God. The significance of the flames of Hell would be this- Jesus offered living water to every lost sinner as vile as they are in John 4:14. Reject the living water and burn forever!
  • It will ultimately serve as a prison cell for Christ rejecters (2 Peter 2:4).
