Joseph and Food Preservation in Ancient Egypt

Image
As I heard the story of Joseph once again in a Sunday morning sermon - there was one thing that fascinated me namely the storage of food for more than seven straight years. I always asked myself questions like, "How will the food not spoil if they harvested during the first year and it would go for 13 more years in the storage house?" The answer would be to dig through ancient Egyptian science and technology to know the methods of ancient food preservation. Here's an interesting read from a blog called Stealth Armoured  which may help unlock the mystery of how Joseph may have preserved grains for Egypt for the seven years of famine: How did Ancient Egyptians preserve their food?   Ancient Egyptians employed a variety of methods for food preservation. Great silos were constructed to preserve grain for long periods of time. Fish, meat, vegetables and fruits were were preserved by drying and salting. Grains were fermented to create beer.  There is evidence that as ...

What Valentine's Day is Really All About

Image
Tomorrow is Valentine's Day but do we really know the real meaning and ugly history behind Valentine's Day? If you do some historical study - there was a Christian martyr who is prayed to by the Roman Catholic institution known as Valentine. The very story of Valentine's Day is anything but romantic. It's when a Christian bishop or pastor during the reign of Emperor Claudius II - a monarch outlawed marriage for his soldiers. He was one who opposed the ridiculous rule of Claudius II and was eventually beheaded after several tortures. He refused to recant his Christian faith, preached in prison and performed marriages even when the emperor didn't allow it! The interesting note is that there is the Roman orgy festival known as Lupercalia which is said to be celebrated on February 15. So it was possible that Valentine's martyrdom was arranged in such a day to appease the gods involved with the satanic festival. The term "Your Valentine" was probably be...

The Problem With Chronological Errors

In the world of Christian apologetics, it's very easy to just absorb everything when you're a newbie. The Internet may not be the best place for research. It's good to have apologetics site like Way of the Master but to do real research one must go out there and dig into the details. One huge problem today is the prevalence of chronological errors. What's a chronological error? It's when time and date do not agree with the claim. A good example of a chronological fallacy is to claim that the Jesuits came before Islam. The Jesuit Order could have not invented Islam because of the time difference. Islam was born in the early 7th century and the Jesuit Order came around in September 27, 1540. While it's possible that the Jesuits and Islam are now collaborating in the last days but the times and dates prove that the Jesuits couldn't have invented Islam. They could have collaborated with Islam but they couldn't have invented it. How can the Jesuits who came...

The Horrors of the Horrid Family: The Herods and Inbreeding

One can think about the incest and intrigue of the Herodian family are the whispers of the world "incestuous". It's because historically these people have been involved in so much incest which may have been another major reason why their clan fell apart.  1.) Herodias (or Horridias as I want to call her) is the daughter of Aristobulus a much older son of Herod the Great by Mariamne I was married to her half-uncle, Herod Philip I and had a freak daughter named Salome. Salome wouldn't be a normal child either considering she was born of incest between half-uncle and half-niece. So she was both granddaughter and great-granddaughter to the wicked Herod the Great. I guess Salome was a retard too though she did live long enough. Note also that Herodias was the sister of Herod Agrippa I who was later eaten of worms as the throne was later lost out of her greed. Also Herodias' parents were first cousins which makes her a freak already. 2.) Herodias...

Interesting Science with the Death of Herod Agrippa I

In Acts 12:20-24 we read of the account of Herod Agrippa I (who is merely called Herod here, do not confuse him with Herod Antipas and his infamous adultery with his sister-in-law who according to Josephus was also his niece which doubles the offense).  Here we can read the account that he gave not God the glory but looked like he was going to claim himself as God, but they were going to find out that God wasn't going to share His glory with no mortal man.  In verse 22-23 we read that an angel of God smote him and the wicked monarch was eaten of worms.  An interesting take from extrabiblical information which no way contradicts the Bible actually reveals the king may have been struck by disease which was written by Jewish historian Josephus in Antiquities 19:8:2: Now when Agrippa had reigned three years over all Judea, he came to the city Cesarea, which was formerly called Strato’s Tower; and there he exhibited shows in honor of Caesar, upon his being informed that th...

So This is Herod's Family Tree?

Image
Apparently this is Herod's family tree. Although the New Testament Scriptures haven't mentioned it, but it seems to be according to historians (and plus John MacArthur had quoted Josephus as his source though like every person, me and him are bound to error though I might wish to converse with him on this repulsive matter) that the union of Herod Antipas to Herodias was really incest as well. It just disgusts me to think how depraved ancient civilizations were that a lot of them had legalized what God has made illegal like same sex unions, incest (even after God had already raise the flag it's time to stop the inbreeding in Leviticus 18!) and all. So looking at what could be Herod the Great's family tree, Herodias is the half-niece of both Herod Philip I and Herod Antipas, neither which could have her though John the Baptist only attacked the reality that Antipas had married Herodias while his brother Philip was still alive. But why is it that the Scriptures wa...

Denial of the TRUTH of Philippines Under Spanish Rule

It's June 12 and it's Philippine independence day from Spanish rule and here's a major issue that many still continue to deny- the whole issue is in relation to the denial of the REAL truth of who really abused the Philippines during the Spanish rule. It's a common lie today done by many disinformation agents and dishonest historians (especially by the Jesuits) that the Vatican had nothing to do with the abuses but a clearer look at history proves otherwise. Now to take a look at the time setting of the Philippines under Spanish rule had these facts in mind: The Vatican is higher than the state of any country. That is, the local outlet of the Vatican exceeds the power of the ruler of the State in extension, the Pope becomes the king of that area. That Spain, being a Roman Catholic country therefore was part of the Papal kingdom. No decision of Spain can go forward without the consent of the unholy father, the Pope himself. Any Roman Catholic country during the 1...

The Stones Cry Out

And He answered and said unto them, "I tell you that if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out."- Luke 19:40 How true indeed. If the Christians should at least hold their peace, the stones will cry out. What stones? Historical evidence of course that the prophecies have been happening. Here are some of the examples as presented by Presbyterian minister Pastor D. James Kennedy taken from the book "Why I Believe" in chapter 2 entitled as "The Stones Cry Out": 1.) Dr. Flinders Petrie in 1890 had figured out several things to confirm the Bible while on a voyage in Egypt. It was through this by discovering that Amraphel was actually King Hammurabi who with thee other kings attacked the kings by the Dead Sea, where Sodom and Gomorrah would be to verify the narrative of Genesis 14. 2.) Dr. Hugo Winckler went to the area to dig where the Hittites discovered forty of their cities and later, found many evidence of the ...

The Bible is Credible with Prophecy, History and Current Events

Image
Okay some people may go ahead and attack this blog ministry saying, "Hey you're quoting from the Old Testament" but most of the Old Testament is still TRUE to this very day. So I would like to quote Deuteronomy 18:18-22 saying, "I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him. But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die. And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken? When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath s...
